Leslie Jones hosting last year's The One Show
    NEW YORK --

Emmy-nominated comedian and actress Leslie Jones will make an encore performance to host The One Show 2026, taking place at New York’s Cipriani Wall Street on May 15 as part of Creative Week 2026.

Jones spent six years as a cast member and writer for NBC’s “Saturday Night Live”, where she was twice nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award. She has also hosted the ABC game show “Supermarket Sweep”, headlined numerous comedy tours and festivals, and starred in films including the 2016 “Ghostbusters”. Her recent special, “Life Part 2”, streaming on Peacock, was the highest debut by a female comedian.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Leslie Jones back as host of The One Show,” said Adam Izen, chief awards officer at The One Club. “Last year, she brought an incredible energy to the stage–celebrating our industry with genuine love while delivering a few fiery roasts that kept everyone on their toes. We can’t wait to see what she brings to the stage this year.”

The One Show 2026 Members Choice Award
This year’s show will also feature the announcement of the inaugural One Show Members Choice Award winner. Anyone with an active membership to The One Club for Creativity will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite work from among top One Show 2026 winners.

The new accolade is designed to engage the global creative community, and provide a platform for them to have a direct say in recognizing the best work of the year.

    2026 Creative Hall of Fame
Another new element of this year’s One Show ceremony will be the announcement of 2026 inductees to the Creative Hall of Fame.

The Creative Hall of Fame has a rich heritage of honoring the lifetime achievements of creative luminaries in advertising, design, and education, starting with the induction of Leo Burnett in 1961. In its current incarnation, it encompasses inductees into the Copywriters Club Hall of Fame (1961–1974), the Art Directors Club Hall of Fame (1972–2012), and the Educators Hall of Fame (2012–present).

Responses to the open global call for nominations–focused on the criteria of industry impact, influence and inspiration–were reviewed by The One Club Board of Directors, who then selected this year’s inductees from a shortlist. The 2026 inductees will be celebrated at a special black-tie fundraising ceremony in September in New York.

    Creative Week 2026
Now in its 17th year, Creative Week is a premier annual gathering for the advertising and design industries to come together and celebrate the creative excellence showcased in The One Club’s leading global awards shows: The One Show, ADC 105th Annual Awards, and Young Ones Student Awards.

Other Creative Week 2026 programming includes The One Club AI Creative Challenge, exclusive Executive Creative Summit 2026, Client Pitch Competition, in person and virtual Portfolio Reviews, Type Directors Club TDC Lettering Walk, and informative daily Morning Buzz panels.

Police arrest a suspect in a Molotov attack at OpenAI CEO’s San Francisco home

Officers arrested a 20-year-old man suspected of throwing a Molotov cocktail at OpenAI CEO Sam Altman's San Francisco home on Friday and then making threats at the company's headquarters, police and the company said.

Officers went to the home shortly after 4 a.m. because someone had thrown an incendiary device, setting an exterior gate alight before fleeing on foot, police said.

Less than an hour later, authorities were called to a business elsewhere in the city where a man had reportedly threatened to burn down the building. Officers recognized the man as the same suspect and detained him, the police department posted on social media.

OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, released a statement confirming that the home belongs to Altman and that the threats were made at its headquarters. No one was hurt, the company said, and OpenAI is assisting in the investigation.

Authorities haven't charged or released details about the man they arrested, including his name or a possible motive.

"We deeply appreciate how quickly SFPD responded and the support from the city in helping keep our employees safe," OpenAI wrote in a statement.

Altman, the co-founder and CEO, has become a preeminent voice in Silicon Valley on the promise and potential dangers of artificial intelligence. He was fired by OpenAI in 2023 after a review found he was "not consistently candid in his communications" with the board of directors, but he was rehired just days later. He returned as CEO under a different board of directors.

Altman is a controversial figure, and the attack comes days after the New Yorker published an in-depth investigation that touched on concerns some people have about him and the company.
