The Best Work You May Never See: Chris Fowles Directs PrideInLondon Spot

This film was shot in one evening in South London with a small crew and under COVID-19 rules. Against the backdrop of the London skyline, what at first seems like two friends discussing lockdown turns out to be something very different. The film started as a personal project for director Chris Fowles (who’s repped via production company Hoi Polloi) about life after lockdown, exploring multiple characters and how life has changed. The cast–Molly and Clare–are a real couple. This is their first same-sex relationship and it’s only a few months old.  The aim was not to make something loud or in-your-face, but a real representation of the kind of conversations that are happening right now. Busy places they used to love like bars and parks had suddenly become intimidating even without COVID. The fear of discrimination and its consequences can come through in small ways. And right now that is ever more complex to express and navigate.

Fowles directed the spot titled “Hesitation”–which was produced by Jealous Films–for PrideInLondon, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting the LGBTQ community.

Director Peter Thwaites and Goodby Silverstein & Partners Bring Robovac Into The Family For Xfinity

    Monday, April 20, 2026

Produced by The Corner Shop and directed by Peter Thwaites for Goodby Silverstein & Partners, Xfinity’s latest campaign includes this spot which introduces an unexpected member of the family, a Robovac. The :60 unfolds from the robotic vacuum cleaner’s point of view, gliding across hardwood floors and tracing the edges of a busy home. All around the household, family members are locked into their own screens--mom on a work call, daughter deep in reality TV, the boys absorbed in gaming. Even the dog keeps its distance, tucked under the table.

When dad calls out β€œmovie night,” no one responds. That changes when he opens the Xfinity app and hits β€œPause Kids’ Devices.” Instantly, the kids come running.

The family gathers on the couch, snacks in hand. The Robovac is right there with them. Spooked by a scary moment, the Robovac ducks under the couch before the youngest coaxes it back out with a kernel of popcorn.

The voiceover lands the idea: β€œWi Fi so smart, it brings the whole family together. Xfinity, Imagine That.”
