The Best Work You May Never See: Rodrigo Valdes Directs “Your Ticket to the Big Screen” Starring Idris Elba For Sky Cinema

Until now, subscription channel Sky Cinema has brought movies to its viewers. Now they’re offering viewers the chance to go to the movies, with two free tickets every month to Vue cinema. To promote the deal, Sky has launched this film, produced by Birth Productions, which breaks the fourth wall, sending the audience on a cinematic adventure through the streets with Idris Elba.

“Your Ticket to the Big Screen” begins with a scenario any Sky Cinema viewer can relate to, as Elba and his nephew settle in to watch a movie. Suddenly, they’re a part of a gripping, action-packed movie themselves, starring Idris, and his nephew as The Sidekick. They’re whisked away in their armchairs, exploding through the glass doors out onto the streets at breakneck speed in an exhilarating scene, akin to the heart-pounding thrill rides we expect from Fast and the Furious. In the adrenaline-filled sequence that follows, the pair race by traffic, fly around corners and down steps, gripping hands Thelma & Louise-style as they veer towards a roadblock before surviving a dramatic explosion, and landing directly in front of a Vue cinema where, thanks to their subscription with Sky Cinema, they have two free tickets.

For director Rodrigo Valdes, making the film, and the offer, memorable, meant centering the focus on the action, creating a cinematic experience within itself. The :60 spot is an homage to notable movies–Italian Job, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Back to the Future, Baby Driver–and pays tribute to the most iconic car chases in filmdom.

The film from agency Sky Creative is being played on TV and in U.K. cinemas.

Top Spot of the Week: BBDO New York, Director Thomas Ormonde Show How Romance Stacks Up For A Pringles Snacker

    Thursday, April 9, 2026

As part of Pringles®’ ongoing “Once You Pop, The Pop Don’t Stop” campaign that is designed to reach a new era of Gen Z snackers, this new “Pringlelina” ad----directed by Thomas Ormonde of ProdCo for BBDO New York--delivers the brand’s signature unexpected humor, showing that opening a can of Pringles can unlock a world of delicious possibilities, including your next love story. In the commercial, a young man takes love into his own hands--literally--by building his dream partner crisp by crisp. What starts as a craving quickly turns into a full-blown romance, proving that sometimes your crush is more of a crunch.

This long-form version of the spot, a :60, is running on YouTube.

Dan Kelly, executive creative director, BBDO New York, said, “Everyone finds love a little differently. Some people swipe. Some people stack. “Building a salty soulmate out of crisps hit a chord with Pringles fans, and now the snacking love story continues.”
