Lucy Walker Directs Branded Docuseries “The Action Plan” For Lincoln Financial and Havas

Lincoln Financial (NYSE: LNC) has launched a four-part docuseries, titled “The Action Plan,” in partnership with wellness advocate and podcast host, Rich Roll. The new series, from Emmy Award-winning director Lucy Walker, takes Roll’s #1 self-improvement podcast out of the studio and into the action, meeting up with notable guests who represent some of today’s most popular pastimes. Tennis legend and pickleball enthusiast Andre Agassi, country music star Walker Hayes, two-time Olympian and Ironman triathlete Sarah True–along with New York Times best-selling author Morgan Housel (“The Psychology of Money”)–all join Roll as they breakdown how they prioritize living fulfilled, healthy, and financially stable lives.

Today, adults in their 40s and 50s are healthier, more active and predicted to live longer than ever before, and they want to spend these years pursuing their passions. Lincoln Financial conducted a national survey to better understand this audience, learning that 77% of Americans in this age group see this phase of life as one they will be able to pursue the passions and pastimes they did not have time for during their working years, but only 11% of respondents planned or budgeted for pastimes.

To encourage this audience to take action to ensure they’re financially prepared to keep doing the things they love, the docuseries was produced to help celebrate pastimes and inspire conversations no matter what stage of adult life you may be experiencing. Viewers will enjoy a masterclass of insights, personal triumphs and challenges, alongside resources and ways to help plan for the future. While  Roll has never spoken about financial security on his platform, he realized the huge opportunity to connect with listeners facing similar experiences – and thus the partnership with Lincoln Financial was born. Alongside his guests, Roll explores how Lincoln’s products, along with preparation and planning, can allow your passions to grow.

The premiere episode features Agassi as he teaches Roll the ins and outs of his new favorite pastime: pickleball. The pair discuss how Agassi channeled his tennis career into his new passion and how his enjoyment of the game inspired him to elevate the sport across the U.S. and demonstrate how an active, healthy lifestyle is achievable at any age.

“I was only 16 when I started playing tennis professionally. I started signing sponsors and winning prize money and it all felt like so much so fast–there’s no real way to prepare for having nothing and then having everything, unless you actively seek advice. Even then, you still have to take that advice and learn from it,” said Agassi. “It’s tough for an athlete, being paid for your performance, because when the performance stops, if an injury happens or something goes wrong, you still have bills but no way to manage it. Figuring out how you really want to live and thinking about your future is important.”

“It was a true pleasure to collaborate with Havas and Lincoln Financial on The Action Plan series,” said Lucy Walker who directed the docuseries via production house Merman for ad agency Havas. “I am a big fan of podcasts and Rich Roll. It was exciting to bring him and his amazing work to the screen. This is a series that addresses what we are all concerned about; maintaining our physical health and fitness, as well as our financial well-being, in other words, how to live the longest happiest life possible. I’ve directed quite a few sports-focused series and documentaries in my career and had a blast on this one, culminating in learning pickleball from Andre Agassi. I want to pay tribute to everyone involved, Rich, our guests, Havas, Merman USA and our ingenious Los Angeles based crew.”

Here’s a trailer for the docuseries:

Top Spot of the Week: Airwallex, Uncommon Creative Studio and Director Sam Walker Generate “SPARKS” Of Innovation

    Wednesday, May 6, 2026

Airwallex unveils its first global brand platform, “Build the Future,” created in collaboration with Uncommon Creative Studio. The campaign looks to position Airwallex as the business banking partner for companies shaping what comes next.

At the heart of the launch is this brand anthem film titled “SPARKS” — a statement of intent designed to cut through the conventions of the category. The film explores the moment of ingenuity: the spark behind every new business, breakthrough idea, or bold reinvention.

An ode to ingenuity, “SPARKS” celebrates the irrational, relentless spirit that sees opportunity everywhere--the same dynamic that fuels both Airwallex and its customers.

Shot in striking black and white, “SPARKS” opens with the jolt of an alarm clock before unfolding a sequence of human innovations--from the zip to jazz music, the seatbelt to the defibrillator, each presented in its pure functional form. As the film progresses, these inventions begin to take on deeper emotional meaning: a typewriter becomes freedom, a baseball game becomes entertainment, and a spacesuit becomes progress. The film culminates in the line: “They all started with a person. They all started with a spark. Make those ideas happen.”

Visually, the film is crafted using a rotating rig technique, creating a seamless, kinetic sequence that continuously reveals each scene, mirroring the momentum of ideas in motion.

Directed by Sam Walker through Creators Inc, the film was shot in-camera with bespoke lighting set ups for each scene, created on location in the desert. The cinematography of each vignette reflected the different eras of the ideas and inventions. The continuous whip pan camera technique was created with DP Chayse Irvin... Read More
