The Best Work You May Never See: Ford, W+K London, Director Tim Godsall Power Up For Europe’s First Hybrid Pickup Truck

Ford’s commercial vehicles division, Ford Pro, and Wieden+Kennedy London have rolled out “More Power. Just in Case.” The campaign launches Europe’s first hybrid pickup, the Ford Ranger Plug-in Hybrid.

The Ford Ranger has been the best-selling pick-up vehicle across Europe for nine consecutive years since 2015, and now continues to trailblaze with the launch of Europe’s first Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) pickup. Wieden+Kennedy London’s new campaign brings that milestone to life with a cinematic and playful take on the Ranger PHEV’s power.

The hero film, directed by Tim Godsall and with cinematography by Nicolas Karakatsanis, celebrates the joy of being over-prepared. The narration gets carried away with scenarios that swing from the epic to the absurd, while the visuals show the Ranger taking on everything from brutal terrain to larger-than-life challenges–from towing hay bales and powering plug-in saws to towing UFOs in an Area 51-esque hangar and powering plug-in laser cannons.

Celebrating that the hybrid vehicle has more torque than any other Ranger model, including the diesel V6, and the ability to export electricity to almost any power tool imaginable, the campaign aims to shatter preconceptions about the power capabilities of hybrid vehicles.

The campaign has now gone live across the UK on VOD, digital, and DOOH; and will shortly roll out across Europe.

In a joint statement, David Colman, group creative director, and Alex Sattlecker, creative director at Wieden+Kennedy London, said, “The Ranger PHEV is Europe’s first hybrid pickup, with more power than you’ll probably ever need. We had fun with that idea — the VO gets carried away reeling off what the truck could do, before catching himself. It felt like the perfect way to capture the joy of being over-prepared. Huge thanks to the Ford Pro team for backing such a playful approach, and to Tim Godsall for bringing it all to life with so much character and craft.”

Top Spot of the Week: Director Daniel Warwick’s Short Film “Ritornerai” Is Like A Painting That’s Subject To Interpretation

    Thursday, August 13, 2026

Daniel Warwick directed and teamed with producer Jakob Rühle to conceive of and develop this short film titled Ritornerai (Italian for “you will return”).

“Three days before an actual commercial shoot, my producer [Rühle] and I realized that we had a camera, a location, an actor, a pair of Lederhosen and a few beers to brainstorm,” Warwick said. “Suddenly my producer yelled ‘Objectophelia’ and the idea was born.”

Known for his big and bonkers, epic visual storytelling, Warwick’s Ritornerai--albeit more meditative than some of his other work--does not disappoint. It is a wholly original and offbeat story with an exquisite scenic backdrop that leaves plenty of room for interpretation.

Filmed in the Italian Dolomites, Ritornerai features a man in Lederhosen who appears from behind a bush and enters a Grand Hotel where he begins to touch the beautiful haptics and textures of the whole place. Seemingly overtaken by objectophelia, we observe him enjoying the sensory experience deeply and emotionally. He enters the big ballroom and sits by the piano where he utters the film’s only line, “Ritornerai.” He approaches a giant painting of a landscape and eventually we discover that he is actually in the painting.

“Ritornerai has inspired many different interpretations,” said Warwick. “People let their minds wander a bit. Love it or hate it, I really like that it doesn’t want anything from you. For that reason, maybe it’s a little more artful because people can take away whatever they want.”

The production company on Ritornerai was Zauberberg Productions. Director Warwick is handled by production house O Positive for commercial representation in North... Read More
