2C Creative (“2C”) was recently tapped by ABC Network to develop a comprehensive graphic toolkit for the launch of its new music-based reality series, “Boy Band.” The goal was to capture the youthful essence of the show by developing modern, fresh and modular visual elements that could be implemented across ABC’s on-air and digital platforms.
In “Boy Band,” which premieres on ABC Thursday, June 22, undiscovered young talent from across the country battle it out to become a member of the next great music sensation.
Working closely with ABC’s senior creative team, 2C established the toolkit’s look and feel – a motif of vibrant contrasts – the creative agency set out to create an animation logic that would complement the design.
“We wanted it to feel fresh and modern while maintaining function, displaying information in an efficient and interesting way,” explained 2C Design Director Luis Martinez. “A key component to finding success here was having an avid and prolific collaboration with ABC, which resulted in a wonderfully smooth process.”
2C used After Effects to fully animate the package, which included an open, endpage, lower third, title cards, transitions, mortises, backgrounds and flourishes. Watch promos featuring the design elements: http://2c.tv/campaign/ABCBoyBand/
“We loved the look and feel 2C came up with for the launch of ‘Boy Band.’ It really elevated the show and gave us so many elements to play with. It has a great editorial vibe and strong graphic visuals,” said Lucas Aragon, Design Director at ABC.
