Two new high-production albums and two robust playlists provide ideal backdrops to sizzles, montages and decks.
Music has the power to make or break an upfront presentation, so finding the right track is everything. With this in mind, ALIBI Music has released two new albums and two robust playlists offering up an extensive array of track options for those tasked with cutting this season’s sizzles, montages and decks. Each of ALIBI’s well-produced, relevant tracks also comes with stems and alt mixes that make this music highly customizable.
The two newly released albums – “Bombastic Percussive Funk” and “Fun Grooving Underscores” – feature high-energy music designed to inject positivity and fun into upfront presentations.
Bombastic Percussive Funk (10 tracks, 410 audio files) is a selection of royalty-free trailer cues featuring popping funky brass, infectious guitar and bass grooves, and a wide range of organic percussion like finger snaps and hand claps. All tracks are written with fun in mind and anything that calls for a playful sense of cheekiness mixed with a little hype and sizzle for good measure.
“‘Bombastic Percussive Funk’ is friendly to cut with – lots of snaps, clicks, claps and all that fun funk and horn feel,” said Julia Trainor, ALIBI Music’s Head of Sync A&R. “These tracks are great in promos for comedies, sitcoms and talk shows, and really have broad age appeal.”
Fun Grooving Underscores (10 tracks, 319 audio files) is an album of rhythmic, royalty-free tracks combining lively drum beats with driving rhythm guitars and bass with popping brass, keyboards, organs and more. Many of the songs also feature organic percussion and hand claps for an exciting, energetic sound. Straddling funk and jazz, these production music cues are ideal for competition shows, fun promos and sizzle reels, quirky comedies and much more.
Added Trainor: “‘Fun Grooving Underscores’ has a variety of sounds with mostly energetic, fun vibes, but a little bit more of a jazzy or big-band feel. It would work well under smart comedies, RomComs or shows appealing to a slightly older crowd.”
Additionally, ALIBI’s newly created playlists for upfront season include both the light/fun and dark/dramatic sides of content promotion:
Upfronts: Fun/Comedy is a top-50 playlist ideal for those creating sizzles for a slate of comedies or featuring just one show in a big promo for the upfronts. Offering a variety of genres – modern funk, hip hop, pop, jazz, country – this list brings big energy and lots of rhythmic and percussive moments that allow editors to stop for jokes, winks, eye rolls and audience laughs. Networks and streamers alike will find the upbeat, hand-clappy, horn-bursting fun they need to cut these promos to.
Upfronts: Drama is a top-50 ALIBI sampler curated with dramatic shows at heart. Music here was inspired by everything from the sublime emotion of a Max Richter composition to the epic drama of Ludwig Göransson, so editors will find subtle, emotive compositions, grand epic orchestral music, dramatic Americana, dark pop, anticipatory neoclassical, uplifting piano/strings, lyrical songs and more.
