The Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) announced today that their website, ADG.org, has been nominated for Best Architecture and Design Website in the 23rd Annual Webby Awards. Hailed as the “Internet’s highest honor” by The New York Times, The Webby Awards, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), is the leading international awards organization honoring excellence on the internet.

Design duo Anton & Irene were enlisted to create ADG’s new digital home in 2017. Many conversations and hours of research occurred to develop the new website, which included set visits, learning how the studio art departments work, exploring the various crafts in the ADG, and surveying how visual worlds are created for many favorite television shows and blockbuster films.

The newly revamped website launched in July of 2018; it delivers a well-crafted and visually compelling online presence that represents the reputation and talent of the Art Directors Guild. ADG.org’s functionality and intuitive design represent all Local 800 Guild members including Production Designers and Art Directors; Scenic, Title and Graphic Artists; Set Designers and Model Makers; and Illustrators and Matte Artists.

Over 13,000 entries were received for consideration of this year’s Webby Awards. Winners are announced on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, and honored at a star-studded ceremony on Monday, May 13, 2019, at Cipriani on Wall Street in New York City.
