    A Tribute to the IATSE LOCALS 800, 729 and SDSA Artists of Motion Pictures and Television; Opens November 1, 2014 with a Hosted Reception

    LOS ANGELES -- (SPW) --

    The Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) Gallery 800 announces Art Unites 8: An Eclectic Mix of Art and Artists’ Works, opening on November 1 with a hosted reception from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Located in the heart of the famed NoHo Arts District, Gallery 800 showcases guild members’ personal art in a series of shows throughout the year. In keeping with the spirit of “Art Unites,” Gallery 800 is including the personal work of members from IATSE Local 729 Motion Picture Set Painters & Sign Writers Guild, and SDSA, Set Decorators Society of America, in this exhibit. The Art Unites 8 reception will feature more than 100 original art pieces, live music featuring the “Do Drop In” jazz trio, refreshments, and complimentary valet parking.

    Artists participating in the exhibition include:

    Lynda Burbank – Set Decorator for Mike and Molly, 2 Broke Girls, According to Jim, Less Than Perfect
    Lilie Garofalo – Painter for Annabelle (2014)
    Eric Jeon – Assistant Art Director for Married, The Woman (2011); Model Maker for Family Tree and Graphic Designer for Victorious
    Brandy Alexander-Kern – Production Designer for Happily Divorced, Dexter, One on One, Thirtysomething
    Ken Larson – Set Designer for Lucky Stiff (2014), The Guilt Trip (2012), American Horror Story, The Polar Express (2004), Collateral Damage (2002)
    Kimberly Lyons – Scenic Artist for Wipeout, Killer Karaoke, Capture, Fear Factor
    •Meagen Minnaugh – Graphic Designer for Suburgatory, Weeds, Outsourced
    •Jeff Skrimstad – Emmy® Award-winning Graphic Designer for NFL, Super Bowl XXXIX (2005); NASCAR, MLB; Background Assistant on American Pop (1981)

    Art Unites 8 will run through December 20, 2014.

    These artists are leading Art Department professionals, who, through a combination of observation, passion and imagination, bring the writer's words and the director's vision to life in television and film. When not working as integral creative members of the entertainment community, they contribute to the fine art scene with their personal artwork. Since Gallery 800 opened its doors in March 2009, more than 420 ADG members have shown their artwork in the ongoing exhibitions.

    Representing Gallery 800 are Curator Denis Olsen and Manager Debbie Patton. Gallery 800’s mission is to promote the works of talented entertainment industry professionals, in an intimate venue, on a personal level. Gallery 800 is located at: 5108 Lankershim Blvd. at the Historic Lankershim Arts Center, North Hollywood, CA 91601.
