Axle AI, the leader in AI-powered media management software, is making two major announcements at the upcoming NAB Show in Las Vegas. Axle AI has over 1,000 customers worldwide, including leading broadcasters, movie studios, reality producers, YouTube producers, and sports teams. The company’s booth is SL4830, in the South Lower Hall, where it will be launching the following products:
- Scene Understanding and Semantic Search, two key features of Axle AI’s enterprise on-premise configurations, are now available with Axle AI MAM software for MacOS, which runs on Apple’s latest Mac Mini and Mac Studio models. This makes on-premise search across many terabyes of video content affordable and simple to deploy for smaller teams.
- Axle AI Cloud, the company’s cloud-native version media management and collaboration software, is now available for private deployments in OVH hosted sites at any region worldwide. This allows media content owners to keep their cloud media workflows local and private, with no connection to cloud hyperscalers.
Like all of Axle AI’s systems, these two configurations provide complete privacy for the owners of the software. Their high resolution video and proxy media, metadata (both AI and user-generated) and user accounts remain private at all times, unlike most cloud-based systems where media is stored on public accounts and may be subject to AI-based scraping and LLM training by large internet vendors.

Scene understanding and semantic search now on Mac
With this update, Axle AI continues its mission to streamline video search, speech transcription, and metadata tagging through AI. The latest release for Apple’s Mac mini and Mac Studio includes the following capabilities:
- Scene Understanding – Automatically detects and categorizes key moments in video content, describing the content of each scene.
- Semantic Search – Lets you look for videos that are the closest match to the text description you provide.
- Axle AI Speech – Converts spoken content into searchable, time-based text with high accuracy; timeline is displayed and editable inside Axle AI MAM.Axle AI MAM for MacOS is available as a perpetual license for $2,995 for 2 users; scene understanding and semantic search are priced on a monthly basis, at $100 per month, and Axle AI Speech is priced at $1 per hour of transcribed speech.
Axle AI Cloud instances now available for private deployments
The company’s Axle AI Cloud software, previously offered to larger customers, is now available for deployment by individual production companies or corporate teams. It includes the following key features:
- Choice of regional cloud or network deployments – Axle AI Cloud software can be deployed on corporate servers, cloud hosted servers by OVH or other vendors, or AWS EC2 instances.
- Support for wide range of cloud storage – Deployments can manage large amounts of S3-compatible storage from StorJ, Wasabi, Backblaze, Seagate Lyve, or AWS S3.
- In-depth review and approval features – Axle AI Cloud supports tracking of review, approval and commenting from users.
- Premiere Pro panel – Axle AI Cloud includes a Premiere Pro panel that allows clips to be searched and brought into the Adobe Premiere Pro timeline.
- Optional browser-based collaborative editing – optional Axledit features allow multiple users to edit on a shared timeline with versioning and playback, and the ability to send renders to YouTube, Vimeo and other video platforms.
- Single Sign-on capability – Axle AI Cloud authentication can be coupled to existing systems using Auth0 standard integration.
- Self-contained AI functionality – unlike competing systems, Axle AI Cloud includes all of its processing modules for video AI analysis including scene understanding with semantic search, face recognition, object recognition, and logo recognition. Imagine Products, developers of the ShotPut Pro video ingest application, will be demoing their new ShotPut Studio 2.0 application, which builds on ShotPut Pro and adds automated workflows, transcoding and uploading to cloud storage providers among other new features. Imagine will be demoing ShotPut Studio uploading media to both Axle AI MAM and Axle AI Cloud.
Dataclay, developers of media personalization software, will be demoing their new Dataclay Station application, which works with Axle AI MAM and Adobe After Effects to allow automated generation of multiple versions of rendered videos, with the versioning (effects, source clips, lower thirds) driven by metadata exports from Axle AI MAM and Axle AI Connectr.
