Batman Executive Producer Michael Uslan was guest speaker at a recent Studio Task Force Event hosted by Producer Jack Hafer, CEO of Boulevard Pictures and Director of Special Projects for the Cinema and Media Arts Program at Biola University.

The exclusive gathering sponsored by The Cinema and Media Arts Department, revealed some major Industry trends including enormous opportunities opening for production and distribution in China and Korea.  Uslan, an Industry legend on the forefront of content exchange with Asia, shared insights into his recent deals with China’s Entertainment giant Huace, stating, “China has hundreds of millions of new consumers…  the potential to share content is extraordinary and will alter the future of our industry!”  In addition to several film and television projects in pre-production including “Doc Savage” starring, Dwayne Johnson, Uslan is a prolific writer and bestselling author of “The Boy Who Loved Batman,” and just released Comic Book series “Lone Ranger / Green Hornet” published by Dynamite Entertainment.  Uslan shared other trending topics with the audience including the future of Virtual and Augmented Reality, and an inspiring personal story about how a New Jersey Batman-obsessed schoolboy overcame insurmountable odds to obtain the sole rights and produce one of the most successful film franchises in history.

Notable invited guests included Biola alumni, Film Director Scott Derrickson - experiencing enormous box office success with just released, “Dr. Strange.” Producer, Matt Malek, (upcoming Scorsese film, “Silence” and “To The Bone” starring Keanu Reeves,) and Director Michael Carney, (upcoming Paramount feature, “Same Kind of Different As Me”).  Other invited Biola alumni included Vine and YouTube sensation, Zach King.

Hafer expressed great enthusiasm about the evening stating, “It was such a coup to get someone like Michael Uslan who is revered among Producers and fans alike.  It brought out the top Industry to the event – everyone was inspired!”

Hafer has multiple film and television projects slated for 2017 – including the star-filled motion picture, “Thirty Eight”, co-produced with Malek.
