Sequoia, the renowned mastering and broadcast DAW from Boris FX, introduces a powerful unified visual panning tool that brings stereo, surround, and immersive audio (ADM/Dolby Atmos) into a single connected workspace. The 2026.5 release is now available with a new Spatial Panner that gives broadcast, post-production, music, and live recording engineers greater control over spatial mixes. The time-saving workflow keeps sources connected in multiple formats at once, allowing users to focus on creativity rather than reworking mixes for delivery.

The Spatial Panner replaces tool-switching and isolated track-by-track panning with a single visual space. It supports mono, stereo, surround, and immersive 3D channel formats up to 22.2. Panning can be linked across multiple target buses, allowing one movement to update stereo, surround, and immersive mixes simultaneously. Each active source displays with individual peak meters, solo/mute, and track colors to help sound engineers stay organized. It also features an optional 3D view to visualize placement and relationships.
Additional tools include hiding sources as needed to reduce visual clutter; precise placement with speaker-snap; efficient handling of stereo sources with symmetry mode, stereo handle, and spread control; flexible source movements using rotation mode and modifiers; center divergence control; and advanced support for pan presets, Matrix mode, and external VST panners.
Sequoia 2026.5 also offers speedier overall performance with real-time Waveform calculation during playback, an enhanced video engine, and greater plugin compatibility.
Video Engine: An updated video engine better serves broadcast and post-production needs with improved timecode sync, more flexible support for Blackmagic hardware, multi-stream audio capabilities, and refined video preview.
Better Plugin Support: Users who rely on built-in plugins during Sequoia sessions now have more options with expanded functionality.

- CrumplePop SoundApp ARA (a Boris FX sister product) is now available directly within Sequoia, delivering precise AI-driven stem separation and denoising tools.
- Expanded ARA2 support makes it easier to edit natively. Sequoia automatically detects and enables ARA plugins with full-clip analysis and processing directly in the arranger window.
