The new release adds AI masking for lightning-fast object isolation, plus a suite of tools for file management, pipelines, and exports.

    MIAMI -- (SPW) --

SynthEyes 2025  transforms how visual effects studios and matchmove artists 3D track and deliver shots. The new release frees artists from technical aspects of everyday and advanced visual effects tasks by adding powerful AI-driven masking, background batch processing, a fully customizable multi-export system, a ready-to-use head mesh asset, and a dedicated exporter for virtual production workflows.

The standalone application is available as a low-cost annual subscription with options for monthly subscriptions, perpetual licenses, and upgrade and support plans.

“With the combined power of the Project Selector, Project Tag Manager, Multi‑Export, and the Workflow Presets Manager, SynthEyes 2025 lays a robust foundation for a workflow that adapts to any challenge—delivering both consistency and efficiency,” states Moritz Fortmann, SynthEyes product manager at Boris FX. “Mask ML is a game changer, using machine learning to instantly isolate objects, which not only improves the accuracy of your camera solves but also supports downstream tasks like compositing and head tracking. SynthEyes is a powerhouse, and I can’t wait for artists to experience its new capabilities.”

“From anamorphic solving and Mask ML for tracks and previs to its extensive layout-blocking features, I’m finding more reasons to stay within SynthEyes,” says tracking/matchmove artist Kalvin Kingdon, whose credits include Sonic the Hedgehog 2,  Dune: Part I, and Stranger Things. “Leaving SynthEyes is also now easier with the new Multi-Exporter automating my choices from 100+ options. It’s a generous amount of choice with minimal search.”

    Highlights

    • Mask ML: Powered by AI, Mask ML detects and tracks static or moving objects in a scene, creating precise edge-aware masks with a single click. Multi-layer management helps artists stay organized and tackle advanced compositing tasks faster. Additionally, a time-saving batch processing tool allows users to process multiple shots simultaneously by automatically running Mask ML to generate masks, tracks, and solve shots in the background.
    • Centralized Export Hub: The new Multi-Export allows users to access and manage all export settings from a user-friendly interface. Multi-Export supports various formats, including Blender, After Effects, Nuke, and Assimilate 360VR Stabilization. It also offers flexible customization with unique settings that can be saved as a preset, integrates seamlessly with SynthEyes’ dynamic tag system, and automates variations without a user needing to reconfigure exports from scratch.
    • Workflow Presets Manager: The new workflow drives Multi-Export functionality and provides a structured, reliable preset framework across every pipeline scenario by giving users granular control over setups. Powerful nesting, tagging, and templating capabilities help standardize settings across teams and support evolving workflows.
    • Animation-Ready Head Mesh: SynthEyes introduces a pre-built animation-ready head mesh that simplifies and speeds up close-up head-tracking tasks. This versatile tool is invaluable when actor-specific head scans are unavailable and gives a professional foundation for detailed facial alignments, digital makeup, and beauty work. Users can quickly load the ready-to-use assets directly from the SynthEyes library. The new asset allows artists to skip time-consuming custom modeling and focus on creative refinements.
    • Dynamic Tagging: File organization is streamlined with dynamic tagging through the new Project Tag Manager. It automatically generates consistent folder paths for scenes, exports, and assets—ensuring every new scene follows a custom blueprint. The Project Tag Manager eliminates repetitive manual entry and simplifies setup, standardizing asset storage across pipelines.
    • Assimilate 360VR Stabilization Export: The new specialized exporter for Assimilate Scratch and Live FX simplifies plate stabilization for multi-camera and 360 shoots in virtual production. The exporter dramatically reduces rendering overhead and production time by bypassing intermediary steps, allowing real-time adjustments and higher efficiency on LED volumes.

“Tracking a driving scene in full 360 is extremely challenging. I’ve tried all the major tracking solutions. SynthEyes is the best/fastest out there,” remarks Alex Pearce, virtual production supervisor and expert Assimilate Live FX user. “Doing a full 360 track and then exporting straight to Assimilate for playback on LED walls saves at least a few hours per shot.”
