Isaac Irvin, VFX Supervisor at Carbon

From big brand commercials to Hollywood blockbusters, VFX Supervisor Isaac Irvin is bringing his skills and artistry to Carbon.

    LOS ANGELES -- (SPW) --

VFX Supervisor Isaac Irvin is bringing his skills and artistry to Carbon. An impressive talent with big brand commercials and Hollywood blockbusters under his belt, Isaac is delighted to join the bustling studio and reteam with many artists he’s worked with during his long career. “I was very excited to work at Carbon because I had several friends who had been working there that spoke very highly of the studio,” says Isaac. “In my eyes, Carbon was making a great buzz on the streets. I liked the boutique vibe of a growing and flourishing company compared to what I was used to at larger shops. It’s a lot more intimate and you really feel at home with this crew.”

With two decades of experience working at top studios including Psyop and Method, Isaac enjoys the visual process from start to finish. “I really enjoy working with the Creative Director, I love concepts and pitch decks. My favorite part of the creative process is making those sketches and styleframes come to life for the client, exactly as they imagined portrayed on the screen,” adds Isaac. “It can sometimes be very tricky under tight budget and time constraints, but this is the part I love the most. I’m always looking for new ways to make the VFX process more efficient.”

An excellent communicator, Isaac is a hands-on supervisor on set, always keeping the stakeholders in the loop as the project progresses. “I like to start to get to know the client at the pre-production phase when the ideas are flowing,” says Isaac. “That way, by the time we get to shooting on set, we’ve developed a bit of a repertoire and can immediately jump into the creative. By the time we’re done filming, I want the client to walk away feeling that their product is in good hands.”

Isaac’s ultimate goal is to deliver a final product better than what the client had imagined, something he has done for countless brands and big-budget movie franchises including Apple, Coca-Cola, GE, Samsung, and Iron Man 3, Speed Racer, Real Steel, RoboCop, and G.I. Joe, to name just a few. A recent action-packed game trailer for Apex Legends Season 12 involved creating many assets and environments, as well as animating and rendering 166 shots for the visceral, almost three-minute film. Isaac was also nominated for a VES (Visual Effects Society) Award for his work on the Wrigley's 5 Gum RPM spot ‘Daniel Ilabaca’ directed by Jon Favreau.

An exciting talent who truly loves his craft, with Isaac the enthusiasm is palpable. “Isaac brings a level of excellence to Carbon,” says Executive Producer Matt McManus. “He is a genuinely great person and a fantastic artist. We are thrilled to have him as part of the team.”

    Here I'm Alive

Here I’m Alive, the latest feature from filmmaker and Washington Square Films director Joshua Z Weinstein, has been selected for its World Premiere in the U.S. Narrative Competition at the Tribeca Festival, taking place June 3–14, 2026. Directed by Weinstein and written by Weinstein and Brian Perkins, the 81-minute feature is a raw, neo-realist urban epic set over one night in New York City. The film follows migrants, sex workers, and dreamers as they navigate the city’s digital underbelly, propelled by a sonic backdrop of underground rap and spiritual jazz. Unflinching and immersive, Here I’m Alive delivers a portrait of modern city life that is both intimate and electrifying. Weinstein is best known for his breakout feature Menashe, released by A24, which earned nominations for a Gotham Award for Breakthrough Director and an Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature. His previous work has screened at major international festivals, including Sundance, Berlin, and Camerimage, and he has also directed documentaries such as Drivers Wanted, Read More
