The Artios is awarded to those CSA members who receive primary screen (or program) credit for casting on the winning project. Location Casting Directors, Casting Executives and Department Heads who are CSA members and who receive credit on winning projects also receive an Artios Award. CSA Associate Casting Directors on those projects are also recognized in the press and at the show with an award as well.

Netflix Leads with 11 Nominations, HBO and Hulu Each Have Six Nominations

    LOS ANGELES -- (SPW) --

Casting Society of America (CSA) today announces the television, theatre, short film and short form series nominees for the 37th Artios Awards, which honor the contribution of Casting Directors in these categories.  The winners will be revealed on Thursday, March 17, 2022, when the Artios Awards returns for an in-person gala at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. The annual celebration will also mark CSA’s 40th year.

Submissions for film nominees will open on December 15 with nominations to be announced on January 31, 2022. Honorees for the Hoyt Bowers Award For Excellence In Casting, Lynn Stalmaster Award For Career Achievement, Marion Dougherty New York Apple Award, Rosalie Joseph Humanitarian Award, and the Associate Spotlight Award, will be presented that evening and honorees announced at a later date.

As Broadway was shut down on March 12, 2020, with shows only recently opening, a new category,  “Virtual Theater" was created exclusively for the 2022 Artios Awards, in celebration of the perseverance of the Broadway community to bring this form of the theater experience to the public in 2020/2021.
