Chelsea Director Alex Gibney Captures “Mustang Moments” For Ford With Team Detroit

Gibney Directs Twelve Documentary Short Films and a Broadcast Spot celebrating 50 Years and the Global Launch of the All-new 2015 Ford Mustang

    NEW YORK -- (SPW) --

Chelsea Pictures Director Alex Gibney, in collaboration with Ford Motor Company and Team Detroit, has helmed twelve online films and a broadcast spot celebrating 50 Years and the global launch of the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang. Gibney, a prolific and Oscar-winning Documentarian (Taxi to the Dark Side, 2008) worked with the client and agency to cast twelve diverse people from around the globe, each from different backgrounds and cultures, with their own challenges and dreams for this collection of short documentary films.

All of Alex Gibney’s “Mustang Moments” films can be viewed below or at youtube.com/fordmustang.

Together with Ford Motor Company and Team Detroit, Gibney afforded these very different individuals the opportunities of a lifetime: first, to drive the all-new 2015 Mustang throughout San Francisco and along the scenic California coast; and then, empowered by the experience of driving the powerful new sports car, Gibney surprised each of them with an opportunity to step towards the realization of their individual dreams. These were their “Mustang Moments.”

“’Mustang Moments’ was born from that feeling you get from sitting behind the wheel. You feel more aware and awake. You sit up a little straighter. You’re a bit more confident and present there in that moment. Anything is possible,” Team Detroit CCO Toby Barlow said of genesis of the campaign.

Ranging from “The Opera Singer” to “The Pitcher” to “The Voice Actor”, each film documents the driver’s journey, from the moment they admit their seemingly distant dreams, to their first time behind the wheel of the powerful new Mustang, through the empowerment they each felt after experiencing their own “Mustang Moments.”

“Let me just say how much fun I had doing the Ford spots. Hard work, but worth every minute of it. Working with Team Detroit and Ford to capture these “Mustang Moments” was a pleasure,” Director Alex Gibney spoke fondly of this highly collaborative and rewarding foray into branded content.

Morgan & Morgan’s “Power Move” Campaign Makes A Splash With a Merman Lifeguard

    Monday, August 3, 2026
    Still image from "Merman"

Morgan & Morgan continues its unique, comedic approach to legal advertising with the latest installment of its national “Power Move” campaign. The firm's newest spot “Merman,” dives headfirst into the absurd and surfaces with the same sharp wit that has defined the campaign from the start.   The spot opens at a public pool, zooming in on the unlikely lifeguard on duty. He watches over the pool with the calm confidence of someone who was literally born for this job. The twist: he’s a merman. When a woman suddenly finds herself in “distress”, the merman lifeguard springs into action, diving into the pool and cutting effortlessly through the water to her rescue. Equal parts heroic and completely unhinged, the spot closes with the merman gliding her to safety followed by a perfectly timed dolphin call.   The campaign’s trademark closer quickly follows: “Having a merman as your lifeguard is a power move. Hiring America's largest injury law firm after an injury? That's a power move, too.” Read More
