Danny Sangra Shares His Newest Short "Brigitte Moreau"
- Friday, Sep. 20, 2019
Lief director Danny Sangra self-releases yet another hit-film along with illustrated original artwork posters.
Prodigiously multitalented, slightly off-kilter and always with a surrealist approach, Danny Sangra once again proves he is a next generation filmmaker who has honed the art of filmmaking. Today he proudly releases his latest work, Brigitte Moreau, a smartly written short in which Sangra’s signature inner-voice narrative is ever-present.
Brigitte Moreau, played by Valentine Payen, daydreams of French icons of 60s Paris. Her plan is to write a book of short stories detailing of how she inspired Jean-Luc Godard and strolled around with Jacques Dutronc, however all this might just be the distraction Brigitte is after.
The short was written and directed by Danny Sangra, and produced by Control Films in Paris, on the hottest day of record in the city.
Jimmy Cass (who made most of the music in Danny’s debut feature Goldbricks In Bloom) created the music for Brigitte to dance to.
An all-around creative powerhouse, Sangra writes and directs in a singular style with a recurring gang of A-List collaborators. In his work, Sangra tends to comment on the state of modern culture, but via his own blend of absurdity and humour.
Sangra’s uniquely provocative voice can be explored within his expansive archive of interconnected short films, known as a whole as Voltaville. The plethora of short-form content has earned him loyal audiences online, particularly on Vimeo, where he frequently picks up coveted Staff Picks.
Today, Sangra continues to make a mark within the commercial space with left-of-center work for clients such as Burberry, Mercedes-Benz, Samsung, Verizon, Miu Miu, SMART, Vogue and Balenciaga.
Founded by Margo Mars in 2017, Lief is a filmmaker-led production company dedicated to making high quality content and providing access to exceptional talents with an unmistakably individual style.
