Dir. Adriano Falconi And Oscar Winning Actor Jeremy Irons Join FAO’S ‘Angry’ Drive

Dir. Adriano Falconi directed Oscar winner Jeremy Irons in a PSA for FAO out of McCann Erickson.

    LOS ANGELES -- (SPW) --

One billion people in the world suffer from chronic hunger. Every 6 seconds a child dies. McCann Rome is supporting a new FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) initiative by developing a bold, global pro bono campaign to end hunger: The 1 Billion Hungry project.

“I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to let one billion people go hungry,” Jeremy Irons says at you from a New York balcony, urging you to stick your head out the window wherever you are and do the same thing.

The actor’s cry for action is found at 1billionhungry.org, which seeks to collect 1 million signatures on a petition to be sent to governments and politicians to push them to help feed starving people worldwide.

The campaign started the 11th of May with a globally broadcast launch event, and is spreading through all media: TV, Print, OOH, Merchandising, PR, Events, iPhone and the Internet. Every day a new piece of communication gets added.

Adriano Falconi recall: This is a serious problem and as members of the world community we should feel ashamed it’s still happening! In the time it takes you to watch this video, two children will die of hunger. I feel extremely fortunate that I was able to put some work toward such important initiative. I only had 3 ours time but Mr. Jeremy Irons kindly gave me all and filled it with all the anger I was hoping to get out of his performance. So thanks again Jeremy! I deeply hope the world gonna get all the signature it needs, so please take a minute to sign the petition at 1billionhungry.org and spread out the tip.
