    CHICAGO -- (SPW) --

The leaders from creative production studio Flavor are very proud to announce the addition of Michael Anderson to their Chicago staff in the position of Flame Artist. The announcement was made by Flavor's Executive Producer Neal Cohen.

Having risen to the role of Flame Artist with Filmworkers back in 2009, Anderson has been a Senior Flame Artist with Carbon VFX since its 2018 acquisition of Filmworkers. Renowned for his visual effects and conforming expertise, Anderson honed his skills in collaboration with the best of the best in the film, television, and commercial production industries, to include Flavor's VFX Director Rob Churchill.

"Michael Anderson is one of the special people that you meet in this life," Churchill said. "As history has shown, together, we can tackle anything."

Anderson's credits include high-profile campaigns for Capital One, Allstate, Kool-Aid, Red Box, State Farm, Wendy's, and many other Fortune 100 brands, alongside industry-leading creatives and artisans. He has also conformed and finished several feature films, including IFC Films' "An Acceptable Loss" from Chicago's acclaimed writer/director Joe Chappelle, for which Churchill served as VFX Supervisor.

"Michael is a strong visual effects compositor and finishing editor – a unique skillset, which is a real bonus for our clients," Cohen explained. "He also has a great personality for those in-person client supervised sessions."

Brian Higgins, Flavor's Creative Director for Color and VFX, also weighed in. "I am incredibly excited that Michael is joining our team," he began. "His professional pedigree is fantastic, and he is a fast-rising star in the global Flame community. I look forward to seeing his exceptional creativity and technical chops elevate our clients' projects!"

In Anderson's words, "I am thrilled to work with the Flavor team and expand my knowledge and experience from a talented group of artists."

OddBeast Adds 3D Artist Alex Weber To Award-Winning Team

    Friday, May 16, 2025
    OddBeast 3D Artist Alex Weber

OddBeast continues to expand its creative team to meet the needs of a growing client roster. The award-winning motion design and production studio has hired talented 3D artist Alex Weber after working with him extensively on a freelance basis. Weber’s portfolio includes 3D projects for TaylorMade, Jack Daniel’s and Old Spice, among others. Joining OddBeast full-time, Weber will dig in as the studio’s primary product visualizer, a role that requires significant self-motivation, attention to detail and organization, along with a willingness to “get it right,” even if that means no shortcuts. These skills will be essential in cleaning up CAD models, modeling products from scratch and processing all client artwork files to be used on 3D models. Weber will also control the most important part... lighting. “Alex has a combination of things we were looking for,” said OddBeast founder/president Ronny Young. “He went to school to be an engineer initially, so you know his eye is well-trained for the details our clients crave – a MUST for this position. We also wanted a self-starter who cares a lot about the quality of their work, and he has those traits in spades.” Alex Weber was an Engineering student when he began his studies at the University of Louisville. After quickly realizing he was more into pixels than physics, he changed his major to Graphic Design and graduated in 2018. Weber’s foray into 3D was a side hustle and some late-night YouTube tutorials before becoming a full-on obsession. During the pandemic, he moved to NKY and freelanced until he was offered a role at Durham Design Studio.... Read More
