Veteran Executive Producer Sees "Major Opportunity"

    NEW YORK -- (SPW) --

Matt Hill has signed on as an Executive Producer and Partner with Fried Okra Entertainment, of Ft. Lauderdale and New York.

Hill’s move to the production side comes after years building a highly regarded agency career in New York at DDB, DMB&B, Moss Dragoti, and Griffin Bacal. He has produced global campaigns for the likes of Exxon Mobil, Merck Pharmaceutical, Hertz Rent A Car, Glidden Paint, Transitions Optical, Electrolux, and more.

Hill calls his move to Fried Okra “A major opportunity to build something special that just happened to come at exactly the right time.”  “I’ve had a number of opportunities to move into production and/or post,” he says. “This time, everything clicked. Fried Okra has been flying under the radar, producing some really great work for significant and interesting clients. They thoroughly understand the new media landscape, how agencies are adapting to it, and how to create content for every part of it — from traditional spots to the most experimental content out there. This is an opportunity to build on a really solid foundation, expand the offerings, the reach, and the scope of the work we can deliver to agencies and clients. I’m excited.”

“We couldn’t be happier to have Matt as a partner,” said Fried Okra’s founder, Director Ernie Mosteller.  “He’s a friend. We’ve known and collaborated with him for a long time on a variety of projects, and have huge respect for his reputation and work.  He’s a great fit with Fried Okra’s culture. His strong agency background fits perfectly with ours and we think that brings a valuable perspective which we know helps give our agency partners extreme confidence in the work we deliver. He also strengthens and re-energizes our traditional presence in the New York advertising community.  But most importantly, he has a solid, deserved reputation as a genuine, stand-up guy. That’s not always an easy find in this business.”

Fried Okra’s head of production, Rich Rosenfeld, echoes the praise for Hill. “Beyond Executive Producer functions, Matt knows the nuts and bolts of the entire production and post-production process, and how those elements fit different agency cultures and environments. Our goal has always been to deliver great work via a transparent, stress-free process that adapts to fit each agency’s individual workflow.  Matt has the knowledge and experience to help us deliver not just great work, but a great production experience. He’s going to bring a lot to the table on every project.”

STX Entertainment Relaunches With New Capital Marking Next Chapter For Independent Filmmaking

    Monday, January 12, 2026
    STX Entertainment logo.

STX Entertainment is entering its next chapter, with new capital, an exciting new slate, and a suite of production services designed to support independent filmmakers. While STX will remain focused on making studio quality films at the right price, it also has plans to invest in the indie ecosystem to drive greater production across the global market.

“The reboot of STX comes at a time where independent filmmakers face challenges across development, packaging, financing, execution and distribution,” shares Peter Coleman, CEO of STX Entertainment. “STX will be a partner throughout the process, backed by a proven track record and a commitment to continue pushing the edge of innovation to support the creative process.”

With this transaction, STX will become affiliated with Crown Productions and Film Services International (FSI), the entertainment services family of global companies, which includes the storied brand Film Finances International as well as production and post-production resources.

“FSI’s foundation was centered in helping indie filmmakers get financing 75 years ago,” Coleman continues. “Now, with our combined businesses, we’re extending STX’s global reach and positioning it as the mini-major studio for independent films. We help bring a filmmaker's vision to life, support its distribution and, of course, continue producing our own projects.”

STX has delivered standout films such as “Bad Moms” ($183M), “Hustlers”($157M), “The Gentlemen”($115M), “I Feel Pretty ($95M), “The Gift” ($59M), “21 Bridges” ($49M), “Countdown” ($48M), as well as “Greenland,” and its sequel... Read More
