Lionsgate Yonkers, home to new Goldcrest Post facility.
    NEW YORK -- (SPW) --

Goldcrest Post is teaming with Great Point Studios to bring world class post-production services to Lionsgate Studios Yonkers, which is owned and operated by Great Point Studios. Goldcrest Post will establish staff and operate facilities at the studio campus, providing a full slate of post-production services including dailies, sound and picture editorial, color grading, sound mixing, ADR, visual effects and offline edit suites.  The site, slated to be fully operational by September, will service productions based at Lionsgate Studios Yonkers and elsewhere.

The new post-production facilities will complement expansive production resources at Lionsgate Studios, which include 1,000,000 square feet of environmentally sustainable stages, office space, support areas, mill space, and city street backlots. Lionsgate Studios Yonkers has transformed Yonkers into a new epicenter for film and television production, dubbed “Hollywood on the Hudson.”

Goldcrest Post Managing Director Domenic Rom describes the venture as a unique opportunity to be part of a new era in film and television production in New York. “When I toured Lionsgate Studios, I was impressed by its design, scope and concept,” Rom says. “I saw it as a great fit for Goldcrest and our award-winning talent.”

“Goldcrest adds an exciting layer to Lionsgate Studios Yonkers,” states Great Point Studios Vice President Chris O’Shea-Daly. “Having an established post-production provider with a global reputation on site extends our vision to be a turnkey experience for producers. Everything you need to produce great entertainment content is within reach.”

For productions based at Lionsgate Studios, immediate access to post-production resources has both practical and creative benefits. “We can assist producers on set, near set and remotely in a flexible workflow, ensuring a seamless path through post,” says Goldcrest Post Executive Vice President Mark Kaplan. “We’ll be there from the first day of prep through the final day of post.”

Goldcrest Post resources at Lionsgate Studios will include a theater for color grading, editorial conforming and sound mixing capable of finishing theatrical, streaming and broadcast projects in theatrical Atmos and Dolby Vision. ADR will also be available on site, as well as visual effects, creative editorial suites and production offices. The site will be networked to Goldcrest Post’s home facility in Manhattan.

Goldcrest Post’ s presence at Great Point Studios will provide a new resource for television and film productions seeking to take advantage of New York State’s generous tax credit program. The program enables production companies to recover up to 30% of qualified production and post-production costs from the State. That threshold rises to as high as 45% for productions based in certain parts of Upstate New York, including Buffalo where Great Point Studios also has stages.

At Lionsgate Studios Goldcrest Post joins current tenants Mediapro, a global production and distribution company, and Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communication. Kaplan sees synergies between all parties in the studio complex. “We share values and interests,” he says. “We already see opportunities to work collaboratively, including broadening our support for underrepresented groups in the community.”

2026: Connect Today for a Better Tomorrow (And Beyond)

    Thursday, January 15, 2026
    Ross MacRae, CEO, Agency Source

In 2026, the thing that stands out most is how fast this industry is moving, faster than at any point I’ve seen in my career. Agencies, brands, and production companies are constantly shifting, merging, restructuring, and rebuilding. And the people inside them are moving just as quickly. The average lifespan of an agency creative these days is about 18 months. That means if you connect with someone today, chances are they’ll be somewhere completely different by next year, maybe even brand-side. The good news is that you’re essentially building a relationship with multiple clients at once - as long as you keep track of where they go! That level of movement changes what sales and outreach actually mean. When I started, sales in our industry were seen as unnecessary, even a bit smarmy. Agencies had internal service buying teams whose role was to be aware of what production services were out there--which meant that production companies and reps could remain on the agencies' radar with little effort. But today, those agency-side roles have disappeared, and the responsibility has shifted wholly to production companies and reps to make sure they are continuously visible. Whether people like the word “sales” or not, the truth is that you cannot rely on posting your reels on your site and expecting the phone to ring. It never really worked that way, and it certainly doesn’t now. One of the biggest misunderstandings I still encounter is about what a contact database is for. People assume it’s just a place to download email addresses and send out massive blasts. That was never the right way to do it, not 15... Read More
