    CHICAGO -- (SPW) --

Dictionary Films, the integrated production arm of Cutters Studios, is very proud to announce that highly accomplished production executive Madeline Saloga has joined the rapidly evolving company as Senior Producer. The announcement was made by Dictionary’s Managing Director Brian Smego.

For Dictionary, Smego’s arrival in 2023 was heralded as the start of a new era. Today, the transformations he has accomplished – all aimed at meeting client needs in fresh, forward-thinking ways – are paying off big-time. Changes include transitioning from a traditional roster of directors and building a collective of artists that cover every aspect of production. By Smego’s account, he and his team have also brought in cutting-edge AI artists, content creators, and experiential directors, and built new workflows aimed at creating top-quality work intelligently, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

Across the operation, this groundbreaking work absolutely paved the way for the addition of Saloga. “Madeline brings a wide range of experience from her time on the West Coast,” Smego began. “From our very first conversation, her energy and passion for creating outstanding work – and her sharp eye and dedication to discovering fresh, diverse talent – really stood out. Madeline’s unique skill set and fresh perspective are sure to accelerate our evolution.”

Having co-founded LA-based Process Artists Management in 2024, Saloga also served its industry-leading clientele as Artists Manager. Through those experiences helping to build a company from the ground up, and representing directors, editors, and VFX studios while developing direct-to-brand strategies, her abilities to balance artistry, collaboration, and innovation soared.

Previously the Partner Manager & Brand Producer at Stept Studios and Loct’d Editorial, Saloga also led multimillion-dollar 360 campaigns for brands including Whoop, Oakley, and Paramount Plus, managing all facets from creative alignment to delivery. Prior to that, as Development Producer for Gnarly Bay Productions, she produced numerous branded and documentary projects for clients focused on emotional, story-driven filmmaking. A graduate of the University of Southern California (M.F.A., Film and Television Production) and the University of Illinois (B.A., Advertising, Art and Design), Saloga’s career in the commercial production industry began as a Creative Associate for the acclaimed PRETTYBIRD Pictures.

“I was drawn to Dictionary because it’s rooted in the legacy of Cutters – one of the creative industry’s most respected post houses – yet it’s stepping into a new era of creative growth,” Saloga confided. “After spending several years in Los Angeles, I was ready to return home to Chicago and join a company that’s both rooted and forward-thinking in its approach.

“Under Brian Smego’s leadership,” Saloga continued, “there’s a real push to expand into new creative territory – from generative AI and direct-to-brand partnerships to longer-form branded entertainment. That mix of legacy and innovation makes Dictionary feel like the right place to build what’s next.”

Dictionary Films, the integrated production arm of Cutters Studios, is very proud to announce that Indian-American director Zoe Malhotra has signed with the company for representation in the U.S. Midwest. The announcement was made by Dictionary’s Managing Director Brian Smego. “Zoe and I first connected through the Shiny Awards, which is a phenomenal launching pad for fresh, under-represented talent,” Smego began. “After numerous conversations, I became thoroughly impressed with her knowledge of filmmaking and her overall personality. Her energy is infectious, and in addition to being a very talented director, it’s clear that she has a passion for making great work that matters and makes an impact.” Smego continued, “As Dictionary Films looks to usher in a new era of innovation and creativity, Zoe’s unique skill set and her sophisticated body of work align perfectly with our goals. Her arrival demonstrates our commitment to helping develop new and diverse talent, and we are excited to tell new stories from her fresh perspective.” Specializing in human-driven storytelling, Malhotra has already earned both Emmy and Webby nominations for her work. She has directed for global brands such as Coachella, Maison Margiela, eBay, Doordash, Walmart, and more, and produced long-form projects like Netflix’s “CIVIL” and Showtime’s “The Show.” Deeply rooted in authenticity, diversity, and optimism, her work consistently evokes strong emotional connections. With her distinct visual style of beautiful naturalism, viewers can expect work that feels like sunshine. “From our very first conversations, I could tell the Dictionary team not only understood the style and feel of the authentic, visually dreamy work I thrive in, but they were also...
