Santa Monica, CA -- (SPW) --

Full-service VFX and post-production studio Pariah has opened its doors for business, on the heels of delivering two high-profile campaigns for Expedia and Gatorade. Founded by VFX Supervisors Patrick Murphy and Glyn Tebbutt and Managing Director Mark Tobin, Pariah brings together a collective of talent with decades of combined experience working at industry-leading global facilities and delivering some of the largest and most memorable advertising campaigns.

Prior to its official launch, Pariah completed a jet-setting spot for Expedia, starring Ewan McGregor and directed by Lance Accord via Park Pictures that aired during the NFL’s championship game. The company followed up with a spot for Gatorade’s Fuel Tomorrow campaign that premiered during the NBA All Star Game, featuring Candace Parker and Damian Lillard, and directed by Wesley Walker of Tool of North America. The Pariah team’s portfolio spans work for Apple, Taco Bell, Facebook, and Zocdoc, including collaborations with directors Michel Gondry and Jai Moseley, as well as 72andSunny and Stink. Murphy shared, “It’s a fantastic start that some of our long-standing creative partners have entrusted us with bringing their vision to the screen on such noteworthy projects right out of the gate.”

Pariah’s executive team combines deeply cultivated business acumen and digital artistry. Tobin has been pivotal in launching and spearheading growth for many of the largest creative studios in Los Angeles and New York. A seasoned business strategist, Tobin has a proven track record of pioneering expansion and scaling growth for VFXpowerhouses, including MPC, Psyop, a52, and Method, and he most recently served as CEO to technology company Arraiy. Murphy’s natural ability to create stunning visualimagery has defined his role as one of the industry’s leading creatives, having established relationships with directors and agencies built on the foundations of trust and instinctive problem solving. Tebbutt’s experience spans stints at the most prestigious creative studios across London and Los Angeles. His background in design and motion graphics reflects his overall aesthetic style and approach to creative work, while his passion and ability to overcome the most difficult production challenges has skyrocketed his career to acclaim.

Pariah’s seasoned production team includes Head of Production Michael Steinmann, Flame artists Fed Saccone and Gretchen Capatan, CG Supervisor Mike Wynd, and graphics artist Diego Binatena. “It’s a well-rounded force of incredible talent that – combined with our extensive network of creatives around the globe – allows us to deliver exceptional work for clients,” commented Tebbutt.

Pariah will collaborate closely with sister company Exile Edit, headed by Editor Kirk Baxter and Managing Director CL Kumpata.

Tobin added, “It’s exciting to officially launch Pariah and be a part of such an experienced and creative group of professionals. Not only have we already attracted top-tier work, but we’ve also assembled a team of unparalleled talent. We’re looking forward to scaling the business and working with top agencies and directors in the industry.”

ONLYCH1LD Turns Cybersecurity Into AI Comedy Spectacle For Proofpoint

Still image from Proofpoint featuring an AI CEO

ONLYCH1LD brings cybersecurity to life in its latest campaign for Proofpoint, turning an office under attack into a chaotic, comedic AI-powered spectacle. The fully AI-driven spot blends absurd humor with bold visual storytelling, showcasing how Proofpoint protects people, data and brands against cyberattacks.  “ONLYCH1LD has been a trusted creative partner for us, and they quickly understood the need to deliver something memorable that balanced humor with clear messaging,” shares Proofpoint CMO, Joyce Kim. “Their team proposed a fast, intentionally over the top AI approach that allowed us to move quickly while still creating a bold piece that stands out.”  The campaign came together in just a few weeks following a marketing pivot by Proofpoint’s new CMO, who turned to ONLYCH1LD to reimagine messaging and tone. The :30 broadcast spot, currently airing on ESPN, features an AI CEO casually walking through a chaotic office while Proofpoint’s AI agents prevent data theft, extinguish fires and stop robbers in their tracks. ONLYCH1LD also produced a blooper reel and short clips for social media, giving audiences a look behind the scenes and amplifying the campaign's absurd, cinematic humor.  “It’s funny, because I wasn’t really ‘on set,’ given a computer made this commercial. But had I been, I would’ve been thrilled with the commitment!” concludes... Read More
