Five years ago, Marie Kelly was so certain there was a need for an accounting firm that understood the unique requirements of entrepreneurs, creatives, and innovators that she founded Kelly CPA. She was right; this year, the company is celebrating its fifth anniversary with the addition of a new partner, new employees, a new office in West Palm Beach, Florida, and the purchase and renovation of a new headquarters building here in Dallas. Marie's familiar with the film industry, her sister is Producer Teresa Kelly, whose recent projects include The Last Duel (2021), House of Gucci (2021), The Martian (2015), and previous work like Black Hawk Down, Hannibal, and American Gangster.

“I founded this company to focus on delivering industry-leading, hassle-free accounting and financial services to clients who think outside the box, and we’ve been busy from day one,” Marie Kelly said. “We’ve grown so much over the past five years that we’re promoting Lisa Weeg, CPA to Partner. Lisa was the first person I hired, and she’ll now be heading up our new full-service office in West Palm Beach, Florida. But even though she’ll be based in Florida, Lisa will continue to be an invaluable asset for all of us at Kelly CPA and for the clients we serve.

“Plus, we’re moving into our new headquarters in January! Our building is located at 2333 Beatrice Street, Dallas, Texas 75208 in the developing Trinity Groves Arts District. We’re renovating an existing 5,000-square-foot industrial building. We’re having so much fun creating our own space. We’re big supporters of the West Dallas community. I’m the treasurer of the West Dallas Chamber of Commerce and we’re sponsors of the 2021 Art Walk West. This area is attracting a lot of artists and entrepreneurs. Artists helped make our company a success and we’re committed to supporting our city’s arts community.”

Before founding Kelly CPA, Marie Kelly was a partner at Weaver, the largest independent CPA firm in the Southwest, and one of the top 100 in the nation. Her energy and drive don’t stop at her office door, she’s also active in a range of community causes, serving on the boards of leading Dallas organizations, including The Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture, Ursuline Academy, Bishop Lynch High School, and the Kappa Alpha Theta Alumnae Foundation. She is a graduate of Ursuline Academy and Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School.  Kelly CPA was honored with a 2019 Aggie 100 McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship Award as one of the fastest growing Aggie-owned businesses globally.
