Call For Entries Opens in January

    NEW YORK -- (SPW) --

Matt Miller, President and CEO of the Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP) announced today that Kerstin Emhoff, Co-Founder/Executive Producer of PRETTYBIRD, will serve as Chairperson of the 2015 AICP Show: The Art & Technique of the American Commercial. As part of her AICP Show Chair duties, Emhoff will preside over AICP Week, which includes the AICP Next Awards, as well as various educational sessions at the AICP Week Base Camp. AICP Week will take place in New York from June 2, 2015 – June 4, 2015.

“I am very honored to serve as Chairperson of the Show and Week.  We have a really amazing Show Committee, so look out for some inspired events during the week.” noted Emhoff.  “This Show, the Next awards and all the events that support them are unique in that they honor and inspire both the craft and creativity of all forms of advertising content.”

“We are very excited that Kerstin will be chairing the 24th installment of the AICP Show,” said Miller. “She has given quite a lot to the production industry through the years with her service to AICP Boards and Committees, and will be a great asset to the AICP Show and AICP Week.”

Emhoff founded PRETTYBIRD in 2007 with award-winning director Paul Hunter. Since its inception, PRETTYBIRD has established itself as one of the premiere content providers and developers not only in advertising and music videos, but also in documentaries, live installations, fashion shows, interactive shorts, and now feature films. PRETTYBIRD has offices in London and Los Angeles.

    2015 AICP Show Committee
As Show Chair, Emhoff oversees the AICP Show Committee, which is responsible for promoting and marketing the AICP Show, and facilitating the judging process and selection of judges (the AICP Digital Chapter works with the AICP Show Committee to select the judges for the Visual Effects, Animation and Design categories). She will also spearhead the selection of companies providing editorial, graphics and music to the AICP Show reel.  Emhoff additionally serves on the AICP Show’s Board of Governors, which is the final arbiter of the AICP Show, charged with ensuring the quality of the Show and adherence to its rules.  The AICP Next Awards Judging Chair, Jury Presidents, and Judges will be announced shortly.

The Show Committee serving with Emhoff includes:  Marc Altshuler, Human; Marlene Bartos, Yessian Music; Matt Bonin, Ogilvy; Roe Bressan, Lively Group; Maddi Carlton, HSI Productions; Tom Dunlap, 72andSunny; Kat  Friis, R/GA; Gay Guthrey, Gay Guthrey + Associates; Jim Haight, Moxie;  Ben  Hampshire, The Mill; Suzanne Hargrove, Bandito Brothers; Jonathan Jakubowicz, Z + J Management; Becky Jungmann, Station Film; Charlie McBrearty, Shortlist; Vanessa McLean, Shortlist; Steven Monkarsh, In House Reps; Millie Munro, Munro & Co.; Jill Reehl, Get Reehl; Damian Stevens, Arcade Edit; Mal Ward, Arts & Sciences; and Peter Ziegler, Z + J Management.

    AICP Week
AICP Week, which launched in 2013, is anchored by the premieres of the AICP Show and the AICP Next Awards, as well as educational seminars and events highlighting creativity and marketing. These sessions are held at the AICP Week Base Camp venue in New York’s Soho neighborhood.

The AICP Show, established in 1992, is the most important advertising showcase in the U.S. Each year, the best advertising appearing in the moving image is honored and made part of the archive of the Department of Film at MoMA.  The AICP Next Awards, launched in 2007, highlights the winners of the eight Next categories, which honor innovative marketing communications. The AICP Next Awards are also archived at MoMA. The AICP Next Awards will debut on June 2nd at New York University’s Skirball Theater, and the AICP Show premieres during a screening and gala at The Museum of Modern Art in New York on June 4th.

    ABOUT AICP WEEK
AICP Week is a celebration of creativity and thought leadership. The Week is anchored by the Premieres of The AICP Next Awards and the AICP Show: The Art and Technique of the American Commercial, the latter culminating with the most anticipated celebration in the industry: The gala at the Museum of Modern Art. Additionally, in each year, various educational seminars and events highlighting the state of marketing in the motion image are staged.

    ABOUT AICP
Founded in 1972, AICP represents, exclusively, the interests of United States companies that specialize in producing commercials in various media—film, video, digital—for advertisers and agencies. The association, with national offices in New York and Los Angeles as well as regional chapters across the country, serves as a strong collective voice for this $5 billion-plus industry by: disseminating information; representing the production industry within the advertising community in business circles, in labor negotiations and before governmental officials; developing industry standards and tools; providing professional development; and marketing American production.
