The global e-commerce performance agency Labelium, which specializes in e-retail, media and consumer performance, is accelerating its rapid growth in Canada’s market by building its leadership team in the agency’s Toronto office. Virginie de Malavois, Managing Director of Labelium Canada, which is headquartered in Montreal and falls under the umbrella of Labelium Americas, announced today the promotion of Alejandra Guerra to Managing Director in Toronto and the hiring of Jamie Kokiw as Director of Business Development based in that office.

“This is a turning point in Labelium Canada’s history. Part of our success in the Americas has been to adopt a low-key approach. Now it is time to accelerate,” said de Malavois. “We have strong revenue growth in this market - over 40% year to year - and are investing in new solutions and also in the team by promoting from the inside to strategic positions and hiring the needed talent to support existing clients and sustain the growth. Alejandra has lots of global brand experience, with a very multicultural background. She has been incredibly successful working across a wide range of e-commerce, disruptive tech and digital projects. Jamie is a digital and sales all-rounder, with more than a decade of experience engaged in a variety of marketing and media disciplines in domestic and international markets. Together Alejandra and Jamie will be driving our success in Toronto, not only in terms of revenue growth but also by leveraging and driving awareness of Labelium’s solutions in consumer intelligence and in content performance powered by AI.”

Guerra is a USC marketing graduate, former Account Executive at Havas Worldwide and previously Media Director at Labelium in Toronto. She brings over 10 years of experience in the digital and start-up space, working across different verticals such as FinTech, beauty, fashion and home goods. Before Toronto, her career brought her to Mexico City, Los Angeles, Paris and Havas’ offices in New York City. As Managing Director of Labelium Toronto, Guerra will manage over 30 e-commerce clients across various industries and from Canadian brands such as Rudsak to international marketers such as Lexmark.

“For me this is a welcome challenge,” said Guerra. “The digital and e-commerce market in Toronto and the U.S. is growing fast and Labelium is growing even faster. Supported by our incredibly talented team, my goal is to build the new e-commerce momentum post-COVID19 for our current clients and our new business partners in Toronto. Mastering the e-commerce marketplace landscape and driving new business opportunities for brands is in our DNA. This is our moment.”

Prior to his jump into digital retail, Kokiw developed his skills across a broad range of sectors including broadcast media, entertainment licensing and sports management. He has experience implementing complex integration projects across e-commerce, CMS, analytics, CRM and email marketing, as well as platform development and integration. At Labelium, Kokiw will focus on sales, customer success improvement and will partner with local industry groups and associations, as well as digital marketing, e-commerce and automation.

“As the American actor Kyle Chandler once said ‘Opportunity does not knock, it presents itself when you beat down the door,’” said Kokiw. “And yes, my ambition for Labelium is to be a prime mover and shaker of the E-commerce industry in Toronto. We are more than ready for that.”

“Spreading the word locally will bolster our presence and further define our footprint in the 4th largest city in North America,” said de Malavois. “Being part of a global company with an established footprint in the US, Europe, and Asia opens up a way of infinite possibilities to our clients. It is essential to support their online acceleration via media and marketplaces tactics. Today they are selling in Canada, tomorrow Labelium will help them grow their businesses where their consumers are.”.

De Malavois was named Managing Director of Labelium Canada last summer. Originally from Paris, she worked in France for Yahoo’s Kelkoo Group, a European price comparison service, and later as a Sales Director for Ebay’s Shopping.com. De Malavois helped build Shopping.com into one of the top three of European comparison shopping sites. She moved to Canada about ten years ago and joined Labelium Canada three years ago to launch its e-retail and e-commerce practice. She then shifted to leading business development and has been instrumental in driving Labelium Canada’s growth 40% year to year.  As Managing Director, de Malavois is tasked with managing the agency team, new clients and furthering the growth of the company. Recently the agency has on-boarded several new blue chip brands as clients, which will be announced shortly, along with news about other initiatives and new hires.
