    CHICAGO -- (SPW) --

The principals of design-focused production studio Leviathan are very proud to announce two key new hires. Effective immediately, Leviathan’s executive producer Chad Hutson has announced the addition of Ellen Schopler in the position of associate producer, and Mike LaHood as assistant editor.

"Fortunately, demand for our services is increasing… and as a result, we have been able to add Ellen and Mike in these key support positions," Hutson confirmed. "Both Mike and Ellen are already contributing immensely to major projects."

Schopler joins Leviathan from The Filmworkers Club, where she held the same position. There, she helped to produce Super Bowl spots for Bud Light and Ronald McDonald House, and more high-profile projects for Advil, McDonalds and Ziploc, among many others. Through those experiences and attending concert events, Ellen was drawn into the large-scale visual and interactive projects from Leviathan, and when she saw an opportunity to join the company, she jumped. "This studio is so unique in its range of talent and expertise, it is truly an honor to be part of this team," she said. "After admiring Leviathan’s work and identifying this as my ‘dream job,’ I can hardly express my excitement and eagerness to grow here."

A recent graduate of Columbia College Chicago, LaHood has already made waves as a rising television and music video editor. Among his growing list of music video credits, last year he edited director Sean Hagwell‘s Hot Chelle Rae video for "I Like It Like That," which has earned international exposure and raves on MTV and other high-profile media outlets. His many collaborations with Animal VFX and its creative director Samm Hodges include editing several episodes of the WGN television series "Footnote." Mike landed internships with Redcar, Nolan Collaborative and Leviathan earlier this year, and after co-editing Leviathan’s dramatic short film "Lilith" alongside renowned editor Andrew Maggio, he now joins Leviathan in the company’s very first full-time staff editorial position.

    Boris FX Continuum 2026.5

Boris FX Continuum, the acclaimed visual effects plugin collection, introduces its 2026.5 release. The latest version of the Emmy Award-winning software delivers a new AI deinterlace tool, four updated AI models, a new compositing workflow in the FX Editor, overhauled warp and displacement effects, upgraded wipe transitions, and greater creative control in Particle Illusion. “As we continue to leverage internal AI technology to build new tools, we always keep the needs of Continuum’s editors, artists, and content creators at the forefront,” states Boris Yamnitsky, CEO and Founder of Boris FX. “We carefully choose which types of tasks benefit from AI workflows, such as image restoration and masking.
