Cinema 4D is the very first professional 3D animation tool available for the new Macs. And the M1 is Apple’s first chip designed specifically for the Mac and the most powerful chip it has ever created.

Hot on the Heels of the Official M1 Announcement, Cinema 4D Becomes the First Professional 3D Animation Package Available for M1-powered Macs.

    Friedrichsdorf, Germany -- (SPW) --

Today, Maxon announced Cinema 4D will be available for the new M1-powered Macs when they ship. This makes Cinema 4D the very first professional 3D animation tool available for the new Macs.

Maxon has a two-decade long history of being the first professional 3D package to support Apple innovations, including being the first to offer multiprocessing on the Mac, the first to support Mac OS X, the first to run on Intel Macs, the first to support 64-bit on a Mac and now the first available for the new MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and Mac mini powered by M1.

“Apple has a knack for developing groundbreaking technologies and M1 is no exception,” states David McGavran, Maxon CEO. “The new systems deliver industry-leading speed and power, with high performance GPUs. For a 3D artist, these speed and efficiency gains will be invaluable to the creative process. Cinema 4D running on M1 will deliver a world-class workflow experience.”

Carbon Strengthens Leadership with Key Promotions

    Wednesday, April 8, 2026
Lauren Defelice, Executive Producer in New York & Matthew McManus, Managing Director in Los Angeles

Creative studio Carbon has announced two senior promotions, reinforcing its commitment to agility, innovation, and creative excellence across its global studios.
Matthew McManus has been promoted to Managing Director of Carbon, taking on a global leadership role across all offices. In New York, Lauren DeFelice steps into the role of Executive Producer, returning to her home market after leading production in Chicago.
McManus brings a bold vision for innovation and a sharper, more agile operating model. In his expanded role, he will lead Carbon’s evolution globally, accelerating strategy, aligning teams, and shaping a more connected, responsive studio. His approach balances new frictionless ways of working with a continued commitment to high-end creative craft, supported by Carbon’s move to cloud-based production, which has increased efficiency, strengthened collaboration across offices, and elevated creative output.
In New York, DeFelice’s promotion marks a pivotal shift from execution to leadership. A native New Yorker, she returns energized to build on Carbon’s momentum: strengthening client relationships, expanding the roster, and empowering teams to deliver standout work. Her experience across multiple offices gives her a unique, holistic perspective on the business and culture.
