Mode Project, a Chicago based design, animation and production studio, is proud to announce the addition of Designer/Animator Douglas Gordon and Associate Producer Katie Hildreth.

Douglas Gordon, a native Chicagoan, returns from New York City after stints at CNN’s Great Big Story and Madison Square Garden. A hands-on designer / animator, Gordon has extensive experience in concept work, live action integration, and fully animated stories. His diverse body of work includes projects ranging from sports, editorial, UI animation, to commercial work - in addition to garnering Vimeo Staff Picks, and New York Emmy nominations.

“Mode Project allows me to explore many avenues in design-driven animation, and no two days are the same. The tight-knit team allows us to be involved in everything from beginning to end,” says Gordon.

Mode Project CD Brooks Ruyle states “With the addition of Douglas to the team, we are further connecting our specialties in storytelling and motion design/animation. His previous experience is unique and he’s been a tremendous asset in his short time here already.”

Katie Hildreth joins Mode Project straight from London after earning her MA in Filmmaking from Goldsmiths University. Her credits include working for Chicago’s Second City as Production Coordinator and Stage Manager where she learned the ins-and-outs of producing comedy from some of the best comedic minds in the country. Hildreth’s deep experience in the performing arts spans ten years and thousands of performances. Katie looks forward to producing for Mode Project and its’ exceptional client roster.

“After returning from London, I couldn’t think of a better place to land than Mode Project,” says Hildreth, “I’m excited to be part of such a nimble and resourceful team.”

“Bringing Katie on as a full-time Associate Producer bolsters our project management, and reinforces our ongoing commitment to clients to deliver top-notch creative, while ensuring projects continue to run smoothly behind the scenes,” added EP Tracy Heropkie.”

“Katie and Douglas each have unique backgrounds that will amplify Mode’s storytelling abilities across the creative spectrum - whether in live-action production, design and animation, or a combination thereof. We could not be more excited about them joining our team” said Mode Project Director of Business Dessa Samardzija Carter.
