ALIBI has dropped 4 new production music albums offering Hip Hop Underscores for syncing with onscreen dialogue.

These 4 unique albums were created to sync with dialogue in a wide array of onscreen content.

    LOS ANGELES -- (SPW) --

Celebrating the incredible range of styles within hip hop, ALIBI’s newest release of production music is a fresh, authentic and functional collection of underscores. The four distinctive albums deliver everything from classic, old-school breakbeats and deep, introspective vibes to dark, melancholic cues and positive, upbeat sounds. ALIBI’s “Hip Hop Underscores” was created to sync with dialogue in a wide array of onscreen content – documentaries, reality TV, dramas, video games, pop culture shows, sports recaps, commercials and more.

    • Hip Hop Underscores 1 (10 tracks, 304 audio files) – These classic, old-school-style breakbeats feature crackling vinyl drum loops, grooving upright and clean bass riffs and sparse trumpets and saxophones, which combine to create an effortlessly cool and confident sound. Perfectly suited for background usage, these underscores are designed to sit well behind dialogue or voiceovers, while still infusing the scene with old-school hip hop attitude and swagger. Listen
    • Hip Hop Underscores 2 (12 tracks, 383 audio files) – Thoughtful, mysterious and even unsettling, these underscores are suitable for documentaries, reality TV, dramas and tension-building soundtracks. The minimal arrangements, which leave plenty of room for dialogue, are loaded with intrigue, a deep introspective vibe featuring pianos, resampled flutes, deep 808s and atmospheric synths. Listen
    • Hip Hop Underscores 3 (12 tracks, 391 audio files) – With deep, pensive and at times melancholic vibes, these cues feature lo-fi degraded pianos, down-pitched clean guitars and deep booming subs, mostly leaning towards the dark and moody. You'll also find detailed drum arrangements, including trap hats and found-sound percussion. Perfect for dark and gritty dramas, reality TV, documentaries or anything that calls for deep and introspective hip hop. Listen
    • Hip Hop Underscores 4 (10 tracks, 375 audio files) – This album brings us a much-needed positive and contemporary hip hop vibe, with instrumentation such as tumbis, flutes, mallets and bells, as well as ethereal vocal chops and lively synth bass & percussion interplay. While we hear this in commercials, it’s also well-suited to thought pieces, human interest documentaries and reality TV. It was designed to serve as an upbeat underscore for any youth-related content, including pop culture shows, sports recaps and video game selection screens. Listen

ALIBI’s previous underscores have been used in such recognized projects as hit teen drama “All American,” Netflix series “Formula 1: Drive to Survive” and NBA program “Basketball Stories: Sir Charles and The Doctor,” among many others.

2026: Connect Today for a Better Tomorrow (And Beyond)

    Thursday, January 15, 2026
    Ross MacRae, CEO, Agency Source

In 2026, the thing that stands out most is how fast this industry is moving, faster than at any point I’ve seen in my career. Agencies, brands, and production companies are constantly shifting, merging, restructuring, and rebuilding. And the people inside them are moving just as quickly. The average lifespan of an agency creative these days is about 18 months. That means if you connect with someone today, chances are they’ll be somewhere completely different by next year, maybe even brand-side. The good news is that you’re essentially building a relationship with multiple clients at once - as long as you keep track of where they go! That level of movement changes what sales and outreach actually mean. When I started, sales in our industry were seen as unnecessary, even a bit smarmy. Agencies had internal service buying teams whose role was to be aware of what production services were out there--which meant that production companies and reps could remain on the agencies' radar with little effort. But today, those agency-side roles have disappeared, and the responsibility has shifted wholly to production companies and reps to make sure they are continuously visible. Whether people like the word “sales” or not, the truth is that you cannot rely on posting your reels on your site and expecting the phone to ring. It never really worked that way, and it certainly doesn’t now. One of the biggest misunderstandings I still encounter is about what a contact database is for. People assume it’s just a place to download email addresses and send out massive blasts. That was never the right way to do it, not 15... Read More
