New York Festivals® TV & Film Awards competition is open for entries.

NYF’s Television & Film Awards honors storytelling across all platforms and the competition upholds its 62-year legacy of celebrating exceptional content created around the globe.

With 10 years at the helm of NYF’s TV & Film Awards, Rose Anderson VP/Executive Director has transformed the competition by evaluating and updating categories on a regular basis.

“This year we recognize the robust growth of Streaming and the continued dominance of Sports in today’s content landscape,” said Anderson, “as creators find new ways to reach new audiences around the world.”

Traditional and emerging global sports coverage provides sports fans with an explosion of viewing options and the ultimate exposure for teams. NYF’s Streaming category group welcomes storytelling in all genres for all audiences. Newly added Streaming Promotion rounds out the roster.

Corporate Image categories create recognition for global brands. With the addition of Social Good and Sustainable Development, NYF’s Corporate Image categories encompass all facets of corporate video messaging. For a complete list of 2020’s categories, please visit: HERE.

Documentary categories salute in-depth story telling. For 2020, NYF added Religion & Philosophy Documentary to the powerhouse list. 

The 2020 TV & Film Awards gala will take place at the annual NAB Show in Las Vegas on Tuesday April 21st, 2020. For the tenth consecutive year, NYF and their official partner, NAB Show will present the TV & Film Awards to the nearly 100K attendees from 165 countries and 1,700 exhibitors, all with a combined purchasing power of $20.5 billion.

2019 Grand Awards were: “30 for 30” Best Nonfiction Series (ESPN), “Momentum Generation” Sports (HBO, Priority Pictures, All Rise Films), “Peaky Blinders” Drama (BBC Two), “Who?” Camerawork: Promotion/Open & IDs (FOX Networks Group Latin America), and “Mr. Renton” Corporate Social Responsibility NFP (Media Zoo Ltd.).

Al Jazeera English, Qatar earned Broadcaster of the Year Award; The Edge Picture Company, UK, earned Production Company of the Year Award; and Fox Networks Group Latin America earned Program Promotion Team of the Year Award.

All Entries in the 2020 competition will be judged online and screened by NYF’s TV & Film Awards Grand Jury of 200 plus producers, directors, writers, and other creative media professionals from around the globe. Nominated Finalists are judged by a panel at the United Nations for the UNDPI Awards.
