    Nominations Announced For Art Directors Guild 20th Annual Excellence In Production Design Awards

    This year, the 20th Annual Art Directors Guild Excellence in Production Design Awards celebrate “From Silver Screen to Every Screen” Jan. 31 at the Beverly Hilton, Los Angeles. The Art Directors Guild (Local 800 IATSE) is a local union of the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees (IATSE). The "IA", as it is commonly known, is an international union, which exclusively represents employees in the entertainment industry, spanning the United States and Canada with more than 104,000 members. Local 800 is comprised of Art Directors, Graphic Artists, Illustrators, Matte Artists, Model Makers, Scenic Artists, Set Designers and Title Artists.

    There is a TIE in the Variety, Reality or Competition Series Category Resulting in Six Nominees

    Nominees for the Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) 20th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards in 11 categories of Production Design for theatrical motion pictures, television, commercials and music videos were announced today by ADG Council Chair Marcia Hinds and Awards Producer Thomas Wilkins.

    The 20th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards presented by DXV by American Standard will take place on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel with comedian Owen Benjamin serving as host.

    As previously announced, Academy Award winning director David O. Russell will receive the Guild’s prestigious Cinematic Imagery Award. Turner Classic Movies (TCM) host Robert Osborne will be the first to receive ADG’s newly created William Cameron Menzies Award for his work in championing classic motion pictures.

    Recipients of this year’s Lifetime Achievement Awards include Scenic Artist Bill Anderson, Oscar®-nominated Matte Artist Harrison Ellenshaw, Set Designer William J. Newmon, II and Emmy® and Oscar®-winning Production Designer Patrizia von Brandenstein, Scenic Artist Bill Anderson, Oscar®-nominated Matte Artist Harrison Ellenshaw and Set Designer William J. Newmon, II.

    Four legendary women – Production Designer Carmen Dillon, Production Designer and Illustrator Dorothea Holt Redmond, Production and Costume Designer Patricia Norris, and Art Director and Set Designer Dianne Wager – will be inducted into the Art Directors Guild (ADG) Hall of Fame.

    Producers of this year's ADG Awards (#ADGawards) are Production Designers Tom Wilkins and Judy Cosgrove. ADG Awards are open only to productions, when made within the U.S., by producer’s signatory to the IATSE agreement. Foreign entries are acceptable without restrictions.

    Abandon Editorial is excited to announce that award-winning editor Scott Butzer has joined its roster. Butzer brings a highly versatile editorial voice shaped by over 15 years of experience spanning commercials, music videos, documentaries, and more. Known for his unique ability to move fluidly between genres, blending visual storytelling with experimental approaches, he has delivered standout work for Google, Frito-Lay, Apple, TurboTax, Toyota, Vince Staples, and more.

    “Scott is a phenomenal editor and one of the strongest storytellers in the industry,” shares Co-Founder/Managing Partner Jonny Mass. “He’s a specialist at being a generalist, a true creative partner whose instincts transcend genre. In addition to the caliber of work, he is a great person – wickedly funny and kind. We are very excited to work together.”

    Scott held positions at Cabin Editing Company, Whitehouse Post and Final Cut. His collaborations span leading agencies and directors, including Wieden + Kennedy, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, Apple, We Are From LA, Marcus Sonderland, and Jonathan Krisel.

    Butzer is celebrated for his creative freedom and instinct for shaping narratives through unconventional frameworks. His work has been recognized with AICP awards for Vince Staples’ “Fun!” music video and Frito-Lay's “Taste of Soccer,” while his edit for Google’s “Year in Search” earned multiple Webby Awards among others and has garnered over 250 million views worldwide.

    At Abandon, Butzer is reunited with Edward Khoma, Editor and Co-Founder, who previously worked alongside Scott, as well as EP Joanna Hall.
