The new entity will serve as the umbrella organization for The One Show, ADC Annual Awards, Young Guns and their respective Halls of Fame, education and diversity programs.

A Global Creative Community Retaining Programs of Both Non-Profits

    NEW YORK -- (SPW) --

The One Club and Art Directors Club (ADC), two of the most respected non-profit organizations serving the creative communications and design industries, have agreed to merge*, forming The One Club for Creativity, the leading global creative organization.

The new entity will serve as the umbrella organization for The One Show, ADC Annual Awards, Young Guns and their respective Halls of Fame, education and diversity programs.

The One Club began as The Copy Club and originally grew out of the ADC. The two organizations co-produced creative awards programs in the 1970s. Together, they combine a vast array of complementary programming across creative disciplines and build on their legacies of honoring excellence and championing inclusion and diversity, gender equality, professional development, mentorship and education.

“When our board voted, the decision was unanimous. We are committed to preserving the legacy of the programs, while fulfilling the potential of each brand,” said José Mollá, chairman of The One Club Board and founder/chief creative officer, The Community. “The One Show is all about conceptual thinking. The ADC Annual Awards recognize great ideas founded on design and craftsmanship. There is a great opportunity to influence new creative disciplines, celebrating innovative thinking from different perspectives on a global scale.”

“We are very excited about this reunion and the added benefits it offers our members and the creative world,” said Philippe Meunier, ADC president and creative chief/co-founder, Sid Lee.  “By returning to our roots in conjunction with The One Club, ADC will strengthen its nearly century-long focus as a club of creative leaders, a community of visionary thinkers and passionate, proactive doers dedicated to making and celebrating world-changing ideas. This reunion enables us to better expand our ADC Annual Awards, the world’s longest-running creative awards program now in its 95th year, our fast-growing Young Guns program celebrating the top creative leaders of tomorrow, and other programs and events.”

“The One Club and the Art Directors Club share a rich history and a commitment to ideas and craft and the purity of creativity,” said Kevin Swanepoel, chief executive officer, The One Club.  “Both non-profit organizations are dedicated to honoring excellence as well as supporting creative talent from all walks of life and in all stages of their careers.  Together, as an organization made by creative people for creative people, The One Club and ADC will tirelessly champion the creative community, maintain the highest standard for creativity, and provide the greatest support network for the creative community in the world.”

The following programs and initiatives will retain their own brand identities while benefiting from joined resources and networks: The One Show Awards, Creative Hall of Fame, Creative Week, Creative Boot Camps, “Here Are All The Black People” multicultural creative career fair, Creative Leaders Retreat, Young Ones Awards honoring students, Creative Women’s Leadership Series, ADC Annual Awards, Young Guns honoring top creatives 30 and younger, Hall of Fame, 50/50 Initiative, Paper Expo, Hands On, InspiADCion, Henry Wolf Photography Workshop for NYC public school students, Saturday Career Workshops for talented high school juniors in the five boroughs of New York and others.

*Pending approval by the New York State Attorney General’s Office.

    Background

ADC (www.adcglobal.org) was the first global organization to celebrate and award leaders in creative communications.  Founded in New York by Louis Pedlar in 1920, the long-running club was established to ensure that advertising was judged by the same stringent standards as fine art.  Membership has consistently drawn rare talents and creative legends from across the globe, and renamed a non-profit membership organization boasting one of the most concentrated groups of creative talent in the world, committee to championing the importance of artistry and craft in advertising and design.

The One Club, (http://www.oneclub.org/) producer of the prestigious One Show and Creative Week, is the world's foremost non-profit organization recognizing creative excellence in advertising and design. The One Show honors work across all disciplines, including Advertising, Interactive, Design and Branded Entertainment. Creative Week takes place in New York City every May and is the preeminent festival celebrating the best creative ideas of the year, and the most innovative thought leaders of today.

    Boris FX Sapphire 2026.5

Boris FX Sapphire, the industry-standard visual effects plugin collection for editors and artists, expands its blend of cinematic realism and stylized motion design with the 2026.5 release. New features include a physically accurate lens blur effect, an improved glare effect, new ridge textures, bold lens flares, and faster custom effect creation. “Advanced Defocus captures the subtle imperfections, texture, and optical character that make real lenses feel cinematic,” states Brian Fox, Chief Marketing Officer and Sapphire Product Manager. “From pristine modern glass to dirty vintage optics, it gives artists an incredible level of control while still feeling natural, organic, and beautifully photographic.” Featured Highlights S_AdvancedDefocus lets artists quickly replicate the unmistakable handcrafted quality of real-world camera lenses. It recreates the character, delicate imperfections, and cinematic defocus of physical lenses. The effect offers powerful customization options, including bokeh shape, cat’s eye highlights, custom lens kernels, organic lens textures (dirt, noise, and scratches), chromatic aberration, and matte box simulation. Advanced Defocus is a versatile effect that highlights the cinematic beauty of glass lenses, making it ideal for highly stylized motion graphics and transitions. S_TextureRidges is inspired by classic multi-fractal rendering techniques, which invert and reshape procedural noise patterns. It transforms sharp noise into smooth ridges using layered patterns filled with organic surface detail to create flowing peaks, animating formations, and rich textures that feel mathematical and natural. Artists can fine-tune octave... Read More
