    NEW YORK -- (SPW) --

The One Club for Creativity, global peace organization PartnersGlobal and the United Nations’ TOGETHER initiative have joined forces to launch the first Young Ones Design Brief.

This new design competition was created to engage students around the world and promote inclusion and respect for refugees and immigrants by creating posters for mass-transit locations in a number of major cities around the world.

The One Club for Creativity (http://www.oneclub.org), working in partnership with the two organizations, will mobilize the Young Ones’ extensive global network of college-age students to develop posters that communicate the power of standing together to promote diversity, non-discrimination and acceptance of refugees and migrants.  The One Club has selected an esteemed group of 16 international experts to serve as Young Ones Design Brief Jury Advisors.

The winning poster will be placed in high-traffic, mass transit locations such as train/bus stations and airports in select cities around the world.  Target cities include New York, Barcelona, Geneva, Vienna, Brussels, Tokyo, Beirut, Canberra, Dhaka, Mexico City and Pretoria.

The call for entries is open at http://www.oneclub.org/education/youngones with a modest entry fee of $20, deadline for submission is Friday, March 2, 2018.  Results will be announced in April and winners will be invited to attend The One Club for Creativity’s Creative Week, May 7-11, 2018 in New York to showcase their work.

Finalists will be selected by an online jury of representatives from PartnersGlobal, TOGETHER, UN representatives, mayors’ staff and agency executives.  Participating mayor’s offices will review the finalists and determine the winning poster and cities in which it will be featured.

In New York, for example, winning posters are expected to be prominently positioned in locations such as the United Nations, the Samsung 837 Virtual Reality Gallery, university campuses including NYU and The New School, in mass transit stations and on UN social media channels.

The 2018 Young Ones Design Brief Jury Advisors includes:

    • Ruth Aine Tindyebwa, online communications specialist, Kampala, Uganda
    • Ruba Al-Zu’bi, sustainable development and policy expert, MENA region and Scientific Research Program manager, The Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation, Amman, Jordan
    • Sakura Komiyama Amend, partner, public affairs, Finn Partners, New York, NY, USA
    • Michelle Arevalo-Carpenter, co-founder/CEO, IMPAQTO, Quito, Pichincha, Ecuador
    • Karim Benabdallah, IT and communications specialist, BIL Tunisia, Tunis, Tunisia
    • Sibylla Brodzinsky, associate public information officer, United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC-The UN Refugee Agency), Washington, DC, USA
    • Ruben Cantu, social entrepreneur, CEO, LevelUp Institute, Austin, TX, USA
    • Melanie Cohen Greenberg, president/CEO, Alliance for Peacebuilding, New York, NY, USA
    • Mac-Jordan Degadjor, co-founder/CEO, Africa New Media and co-founder, SocialGood Ghana, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada via Accra, Ghana

PartnersGlobal (http://www.partnersglobal.org), which works with the United Nations and others, utilizes a global network to create partnerships with local change leaders to transform conflict, strengthen democratic institutions and achieve sustainable development.

Taking inspiration from TOGETHER (https://together.un.org), a UN initiative that promotes respect, safety and dignity for everyone forced to flee their homes in search of a better life, the Young Ones Design Brief challenges students from around the world to develop posters that support diversity, non-discrimination and acceptance of refugees and migrants.

Similar to how iconic work such as “We Can Do It!” and the 1943  “Rosie the Riveter” poster campaign produced by J. Howard Miller became the universal image to promote feminism and inclusion of women in the workforce, the winning poster will provide a strong compelling message and a symbol for tolerance, respect and peace.

“The Young Ones Student Awards prompt young creatives to become engaged in some of the most important social and human rights issues of our time,” said Jessica Gumora, education manager at The One Club for Creativity, who oversees the program. “This new Young Ones Design Brief in particular will provide a global platform for the winning work to become a widely-recognized international symbol for the inclusion, respect and tolerance of refugees and migrants.”

“The Slightest Touch” Wins Best Documentary at Dublin International Film Festival Following HBO Acquisition

    Monday, March 2, 2026
    Scene from "The Slightest Touch."

The Slightest Touch, directed by Rachel Fleit and edited by Sloane Klevin, ACE, has won Best Documentary at the Dublin International Film Festival, days after HBO Documentary Films acquired the television and streaming rights ahead of its world premiere.

The feature documentary, which chronicles the friendship between Colin Farrell and Epidermolysis Bullosa survivor Emma Fogarty, was honored by the Dublin jury with the following statement (in part):

“This next award is for an incredible film… One through which we as an audience came to know both protagonists in ways which would not have been possible, were it not for the unobtrusive talent of the director, who seamlessly documents a story as old as time itself… Rachel Fleit has captured the magic moments of this extraordinary friendship… What follows is an honest and at times searing portrayal of pain in all its forms and the power of humanity and humor to make lives better for all… The jury agreed that The Slightest Touch and director Rachel Fleit is the worthy winner of the documentary category of this year's Film Festival.”

Edited by Union Editorial Partner Sloane Klevin, ACE, the film continues Fleit’s long creative partnership with the company. Union President and Managing Partner Michael Raimondi and Head of Production, TV and Film Katherine LeBlond served as Executive Producers.

“What I cherish most about making The Slightest Touch is that it... Read More
