On February 18th, 2023, Marvel Studios’ Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania premiered worldwide. Perception collaborated with Marvel Studios to design a visually stunning main on end title sequence for the film, inspired by the Quantum Realm.

Perception is a visual effects and design lab based in Secaucus, New Jersey. For over 15 years, Perception has been collaborating with Marvel Studios to design award winning title sequences and futuristic technology for films and series such as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and WandaVision. 

“Every time we work with Marvel Studios, it is an incredibly collaborative process,” said Christian Haberkern, Art Director at Perception. “For Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, we worked directly with Marvel Studios, director Peyton Reed and his core team every step of the way. We continuously bounced ideas back and forth, always providing new feedback and possibilities of what we could do.”

Perception’s first introduction to the Ant-Man series was conceptualizing the Quantum Locator for Ant-Man and The Wasp. For this third installment in the Ant-Man trilogy, Perception shifted directions from technology to titles, and designed a vibrant and abstract main on end title sequence. 

Inspired by the visuals of the Quantum Realm, Perception’s main on end title sequence features fluid motion, vivid colors and manipulated footage of microscopic chemical reactions to take viewers on a voyage through these vibrant compositions.

“This is very much an interpretation based main on end title sequence,” said Greg Herman, Creative Director at Perception. “The visuals completely drive the main on end title sequence. There’s hidden shapes throughout the course of the algorithmic approach to making this. The audience will absolutely view or perceive things within the imagery that they’re seeing.”

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania marks the 35th Marvel Studios project that Perception has worked on since the company began collaborating with Marvel Studios in 2009 on Iron Man 2. Perception is honored to continue their collaboration with Marvel Studios, and the team is eager for audiences to deeper explore the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.
