Also, the films “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” and “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” won for the feature animation and feature documentary categories, respectively.
Ending on a high note for its final season, the FX Network television series “The Americans” (Season 6) and its producers Joe Weisberg, Joel Fields, Chris Long, Graham Yost, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Stephen Schiff, Mary Rae Thewlis, Tracey Scott Wilson, Peter Ackerman, and Joshua Brand won the PGA’s Norman Felton Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, Drama.
For the second year in a row Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” (Season 2) and its producers Amy Sherman‐Palladino, Daniel Palladino, Dhana Rivera Gilbert, and Sheila Lawrence won the Danny Thomas Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, Comedy.
For the first time in its awards history, the PGA acknowledged distinguished work in the field of long-form television by splitting the category and honoring two separate programs. The newly named David L. Wolper Award for Outstanding Producer of Limited Series Television was given to “The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story” (Season 2), and the newly created Award for Outstanding Producer of Streamed or Televised Movies was given to “Fahrenheit 451.”

The Producers Guild of America hosts the 2019 Producers Guild Awards, honoring excellence in motion picture, television and digital productions, as well as some of the living legends who shape the profession. In 1990, the Producers Guild held the first-ever Golden Laurel Awards, which were renamed the Producers Guild Awards in 2002. At that first show, Richard Zanuck and Lili Fini Zanuck took home the award for Best Produced Motion Picture for “Driving Miss Daisy,” establishing the Guild’s awards as a bellwether for the Oscars.
