    CHICAGO -- (SPW) --

The leaders from creative production studio Flavor and Cutters Studios are very proud to announce the return of production veteran Kate Smith in the role of Executive Producer. The announcement was made by Flavor’s Managing Director Neal Cohen and Executive Creative Director Brian McCauley.

Previously a Producer for Flavor, Smith spent the past year as Senior Producer with Carbon developing high-profile brand campaigns, including BBH New York’s multiple award-winning “Black-Owned Friday” spot for Google. Prior to landing with Flavor in 2019, she was a Producer for specialized creative agency Leviathan, where she contributed to highly innovative projects ranging from award-winning digital art and experiential installations for the Shops at 900 North Michigan and Northwestern Mutual, to the Super Mario World theme-park attraction. Smith began her career with independent production studio Optimus, where she rose to the post of Producer Design & VFX, working on projects spanning commercials, TV series, and feature films, over the course of 10 years.

“I am so excited to be back with my Flavor and Cutters Studios friends,” Smith began. “You can’t beat working on first class projects with the solid and supportive team they’ve cultivated.  Seriously looking forward to diving back in!”

“Kate is very well-versed in every aspect of our production process: The knowledge she brings is only available to someone with her level of experience,” Cohen explained. “She also knows so many people and has great relationships across a huge database. All of this makes her the ideal person to assess challenges, devise solutions, and improve the results for us and our clients.”

“Kate is an amazing producer, and we’re absolutely ecstatic to have her back in this capacity,” McCauley added. “Her professionalism, attention to detail, and positive attitude are second to none. Her sense of humor is just what you need when the going gets tough, and her steady leadership keeps clients and artists thrilled with our work.”

To support its illustrious clients worldwide, Flavor is always looking to expand its roster of freelancers. Experienced and passionate designers, 2D/3D animators, character animators, VFX artists, compositors and Flame finishers are invited to send reels, portfolios, and resumes. City, state, or country of residence are non-issues in the group’s mission to collaborate with the best of the best. OddBeast Adds 3D Artist Alex Weber To Award-Winning Team

    Friday, May 16, 2025
    OddBeast 3D Artist Alex Weber

OddBeast continues to expand its creative team to meet the needs of a growing client roster. The award-winning motion design and production studio has hired talented 3D artist Alex Weber after working with him extensively on a freelance basis. Weber’s portfolio includes 3D projects for TaylorMade, Jack Daniel’s and Old Spice, among others. Joining OddBeast full-time, Weber will dig in as the studio’s primary product visualizer, a role that requires significant self-motivation, attention to detail and organization, along with a willingness to “get it right,” even if that means no shortcuts. These skills will be essential in cleaning up CAD models, modeling products from scratch and processing all client artwork files to be used on 3D models. Weber will also control the most important part... lighting. “Alex has a combination of things we were looking for,” said OddBeast founder/president Ronny Young. “He went to school to be an engineer initially, so you know his eye is well-trained for the details our clients crave – a MUST for this position. We also wanted a self-starter who cares a lot about the quality of their work, and he has those traits in spades.” Alex Weber was an Engineering student when he began his studies at the University of Louisville. After quickly realizing he was more into pixels than physics, he changed his major to Graphic Design and graduated in 2018. Weber’s foray into 3D was a side hustle and some late-night YouTube tutorials before becoming a full-on obsession. During the pandemic, he moved to NKY and freelanced until he was offered a role at Durham Design Studio.... Read More
