Two-Spirit, multi-racial, and international pop artist Tony Enos is proud to announce the MAY 29, 2026, release of his seventh studio album, THE BOSS. Having evolved from a rising indie talent to a national treasure performing at prestigious venues and events including the KENNEDY CENTER and CARNEGIE HALL’S ARTS FESTIVAL, Enos marks a definitive milestone with this release. Coinciding with the 20th anniversary year of his HIV diagnosis—his “Poz-aversary”—the album serves as a definitive statement of sovereignty. For Enos, it represents a powerful shift in narrative. “HIV has been living with ME for the last 20 years. I’m THE BOSS!”
A Sonic Manifestation Of Authority
THE BOSS is what Enos describes as a profound expression of gratitude. “There are certain songs and themes that I think are more prevalent and more present on this record,” he reveals. “My last album, Indestructible, was about coming out at a young age and that experience, but The Boss is the opposite. It comes from the healed and holistic part of me.”
The album opens with the high-energy track “PRIDE,” which Enos redefines as an act of radical self-care. “To me, pride is taking care of myself, and I value others taking care of themselves,” Enos explains. “It’s about you being the first one to place a value on yourself and the unique love that you have to offer the world, and I hope that will speak specifically to our LGBTQ2S community.”
The record continues to explore his journey through tracks like “BRINGS PLENTY OF DRAMA” and “LIKE YOU USED TO,” which unpack his experiences with past abusive relationships. Other standout tracks include “THE CHOSEN” and Enos’s rendition of “AIN’T NO MOUNTAIN HIGH ENOUGH,” alongside the self-reflective “BETTER THAN THE FIRST TIME, and of course Enos’s cover of the 1979 disco classic THE BOSS which Enos says was produced and arranged with a great deal of fidelity to the disco genre.
THE BOSS bookends his 2020 album POSI+IVE, where he first publicly revealed his HIV diagnosis. “The Positive album was the beginning of my empowerment phase because I had a lot of feelings to process with its release,” shares Enos. “I had so much fear about how people would receive it and if they would want to be in my life anymore. Now at the twenty-year mark, it feels much different. I feel whole. I don’t feel in pieces like I did at that time.”
