This bag of Lay's Jalapeno Cheddar potato chips literally explosed with bold flavors in Quriosity Productions director Michael Maes' latest work for the brand. With VFX from The Mill, the spot has the look and feel of an action-movie trailer, complete with stellar reviews.

Partnering with The Mill for VFX, the studio delivers a spot with action-movie excitement.

    CHICAGO -- (SPW) --

Quriosity Productions director Michael Maes new Frito Lay Cheddar Jalapeno Spot is far from cheesy and packs a fiery punch. In this spot, the elements of the new chip flavor don’t just steal the spotlight, they bask in it too. Playing like a trailer for an Oscar®-winning movie, this spot transports you from caves of cheddar and valleys of jalapenos to inside the chip bag itself.  The flavor cues are working with every shot, captured using macro style lensing.  Maes is no stranger to creating epic and beautifully-composed tabletop footage, and this shoot allowed for his strengths to truly shine.  To view the spot, go to https://vimeo.com/451502054.

Working with Quriosity’s own editor Rob Sheppard and the top-notch effects artists at The Mill, Maes’ vision was able to come to life. Commenting on the editorial side of the project, Sheppard says “it was a joy piecing this edit together, especially with the footage being so beautiful and the boards being so creative! It was a pleasure working alongside The Mill, as well. Love the collaborative process that finalized in an incredible piece.”

“The Good Wife” Star Archie Panjabi Boards ‘FLIGHT 182’ as EP, Calls It Her “Favorite Film of the Year”

    Thursday, May 1, 2025
    Archie Panjabi and Rippin Sindher

Emmy®-winning actor Archie Panjabi (The Good Wife, Hijack) has joined the acclaimed live-action short FLIGHT 182 as an executive producer. The film has been nominated for Best Short Film at Sundar Prize Film Festival, awarded Best Short Honorable Mention at International South Asian Film Festival of Canada, and will head to Oscar-qualifying festivals including the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and the San Luis Obispo International Film Festival, after being featured at Tasveer.

Written and directed by Rippin Sindher, FLIGHT 182 centers on a pregnant wife, played by Sundeep Morrison, determined to protect her husband from boarding a flight in June of 1985, at the peak of political uprising, that could uproot their family. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the real-life tragedy.

“Rippin Sindher is one of the most electrifying new voices in film today. With FLIGHT 182, she reclaims history with empathy and cinematic precision.” Panjabi continues, “Her ability to strike at the emotional core of an audience has rightfully caught the attention of Sundance, Shondaland and Ryan Murphy TV, among others. She’s not just emerging, she’s arriving with purpose.”

Panjabi is best known for her Emmy®-winning role as Kalinda Sharma in CBS’s The Good Wife. She recently starred opposite Idris Elba in Apple TV+’s Hijack and appears in Hulu’s limited series Under the Bridge, based on the true story of Reena Virk. She gained early recognition for her roles in East Is East and the beloved classic Bend It Like Beckham.

“It is a deep honor to have the support of Archie Panjabi,” says Sindher. “She has... Read More
