The Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) today announced Scott Tigchelaar, President of Raleigh Studios-Atlanta as a speaker for its 40th annual Cineposium conference scheduled for September 22 - 24, 2016 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Tigchelaar will present an exclusive Case Study on “The Walking Dead” town of Senoia, Georgia examining how the Atlanta suburb became home to the hit AMC Network TV series, how they juggle the demand of both production and tourism, all while keeping a functioning town going for its citizenry.

The case study presentation is scheduled on Saturday, September 24 at 10 a.m. at the historic Senoia United Methodist Church, most notably recognized as a film location from the 2003 Paramount Pictures release, The Fighting Temptations starring Beyoncé and Cuba Gooding, Jr.

Tigchelaar is also also president of Senoia Enterprises, Inc., the company responsible for the development of historic Senoia. Under his leadership, The Historic Senoia Projecthas won numerous awards and complements the back lot infrastructure of Raleigh Studios for “The Walking Dead” and other productions that bring Hollywood to the rural town south of Atlanta, Georgia.

Building your Business is the focus for this year’s global Cineposium meeting where attention will be given to Infrastructure - How to Build It, Maintain It, and Manage Crew Development to Meet its Needs.

“The inclusion of Scott Tigchelaar and the insight that he’ll provide on how the economic impact that TV and film production has benefited Senoia, Georgia in his case study echoes the reason why the AFCI selected Atlanta as the city to host our 40th Cineposium conference,” said AFCI Executive Director, Kevin Clark. “What Scott has been able to achieve through building his businesses and establishing infrastructure conducive to productions is a model that I believe is beneficial to our AFCI Members across the globe.”

Industry professionals and government leaders interested in learning more about building the business of TV and film production infrastructure are invited to attend.

Early registration is through July 8.
