Famed Toronto Musician/Guitarist/Songwriter Blaine Walker has just made available for licensing a new song called “Party In The 6ix,” which celebrates his beloved home town of Toronto’s sports teams and famous landmarks. In addition, the Music Video of this song has also just been released.
Walker calls the high-energy song, “Not just a civic anthem— but a powerful tune consciously written as a Cultural Anthem designed to celebrate everything I love about my city. Especially our sports teams. When the Raptors won the 2019 NBA Championships, or when Toronto FC won the 2017 MLS Championship, or the recent Grey Cup win by the Argos, I realized no song existed that was tailor-made for these unique moments being celebrated by Torontonians. So, I decided to write one. My homage to Toronto is meant to unite everyone that lives here, and I can envision the day when this song is used to attract tourism to Toronto, as well.
Walker is currently seeking to secure an overall Music Library deal for his entire catalogue, which, in addition to “Party In The 6ix” also includes an additional eight rock songs he composed for his popular Toronto band, Hollywood Sins. The titles of these songs are: “24/7,” “Rock Like F***,” “Dirty Girl,” “Enough Of You,” “Gotta Keep Runnin’,” “Pretty Little Psycho,” “Snake Eyes” and “Sick N’ Twisted.” To hear these songs, please CLICK HERE
Walker is hoping for media placements for his powerful tunes within feature films, trailers, TV shows, commercials and/or videogames.
The title of Walker’s newest song incorporates the phrase, “the 6ix,” a term first coined by Toronto’s biggest global pop superstar, Drake. Walker’s song also employs Kardinal Offishall’s “T-Dot-O,” heard in his 2001 single “Bakardi Slang,” as well as in his 2011 song, “The Anthem.”

About BLAINE WALKER
Blaine Walker doesn’t want to just make music; he wants to make history. “You’ve only got one life to live, so why not shoot for the moon?” he says. Growing up, nothing was more intoxicating to him than watching his favorite artists perform on stage to sold out stadiums of people, all the while fantasizing about doing the same thing himself one day. While Blaine grew up admiring dozens of the world’s biggest classic rock bands and guitar players, today he listens to a wide variety of music that is current and popular. “A good song is a good song, always,” he says.
Now a solo artist and the former guitarist of the popular Toronto band Hollywood Sins, Walker has long been well known in his community for creating fist-pumping, foot-stomping, singalong arena rock in the vein of Queen, Kiss or Bon Jovi. “The only thing I’ve ever wanted to be was a rock star,” he says. “So, settling for something else other than what you’ve always dreamed of makes absolutely no sense to me at all. If you can’t stop thinking about it, then don’t stop working for it. You can create your life the way you want it to be with the power of your mind. The first step is envisioning what you want, because you can’t hit a target if you don’t know what your target is.”
“The whole superstar fantasy has been playing out in my head since I was a kid, and every single time I pick up my guitar or put on my headphones and listen to my favorite songs, I transport to an alternate reality. Music is my escape from the normal, boring, mundane and monotonous drudgery of everyday life. I KNOW there is more to life than working a job you hate just to pay your bills.”
Blaine has always known what his target is. He first picked up a guitar at age 12 and started writing songs as a teenager after becoming enamored with the rock band KISS. Music and guitar have long defined Blaine — sitting in class as a high school student, he was constantly zoned out, fantasizing about music or going down the rabbit hole of wild delusions. And to this day, nothing has changed. He’s literally been chasing the dream of rock stardom his entire life.
As the lead guitarist in a series of Toronto-area rock bands, most recently Hollywood Sins, Blaine won many “Battle of the Bands” competitions. He has performed at legendary music venues, such as the El Mocambo, Opera House, Mod Club, Sound Academy, Hard Rock cafes in Toronto and New York, Canada’s Wonderland, Lee’s Palace, the Bovine Sex Club, Le National in Montreal, the Rockpile, Hard Luck, Revival, Nocturne, and the Velvet Underground club, to name a few. He and his bands have also opened shows for such top tier acts as Wednesday 13, Faster Pussycat, and John Corabi of Mötley Crüe, as well.
“After all the years I’ve been in love with music, I’ve evolved from being just a guitar player,” Blaine says. “Today, I consider myself a songwriter first and foremost.”
