SHINDIG Music + Sound is celebrating their upcoming two-year anniversary with a wave of expansion. Clients already experience a creative oasis at SHINDIG HQ, located on the famed Jungle beach in Playa Del Rey, a funky enclave on the west end of “Silicon Beach.” The new amenities and upgraded offerings further set SHINDIG apart from traditional music production houses, enabling their breakout crew of sound artists and producers to offer the full suite of audio services for their clients.

Situated right on the sand, SHINDIG treats every project like a unique guest in their house, providing clients with award-winning original compositions, sound design, music licensing, voice over sessions and final audio mixes. With rooms professionally outfitted for sound playback, a sea view balcony, a beachfront patio/event space (and two main units that convert to living spaces for overnight stays) - the SHINDIG sandbox is ideal for both work and play.

The company’s mixing capabilities have been amped up with the newly constructed 5.1 audio mix room and vocal booth that enable sound designer/mixer Daniel Hart to accommodate VO sessions and execute final mixes for clients in stereo and/or 5.1. As an additional part of the expansion, SHINDIG also recently completed the build-out of a new production/green room (also with an ocean view.)

Adding to their crew of skilled musicians, engineers and producers, SHINDIG has scooped up on-site staff composer Austin Shupe, a former colleague from HUM. Along with SHINDIG’s in-house composers, the team utilizes a large pool of freelance talent, providing them with the range of expertise to work in any genre and/or style that is best suited to the concept of each and every project.

SHINDIG’s licensing arm also gets a boost with the launch of a searchable boutique online music library. Upgrading their existing catalogue of best-in-quality compositions, SHINDIG has now tagged all the tracks in a simple and searchable manner available on their website, providing new direct access for producers, creatives and editors.

From its housewarming to its sophomore year, SHINDIG’s positive trajectory is spearheaded by SHINDIG’s executive team, which includes creative director Scott Glenn, executive producer Debbi Landon, head of production Caroline O’Sullivan and sound designer/mixer Dan Hart. This passionate group of audio enthusiasts combined their decades of experience to launch SHINDIG, with the desire to give their clients informed and intelligent sonic solutions in a positive, inspired and relaxed environment.

Scott Glenn explains, “This natural growth has allowed us to offer end-to-end audio services and the ability to work creatively within the parameters of any size budget. In an ever-changing marketplace, our goal is to passionately support the vision of our clients, in a refreshing environment that is free of conventional restraints. Nothing beats getting creative in an inspiring, fun, relaxing space, so for us, the best collaboration is done beachside. Plus, it’s a recipe for a good time.”

Following this mission, SHINDIG has showcased their stylistic breadth and spot-on sound design in 2018. Projects ranged from recording five mariachi pieces for El Pollo Loco with VITRO, to working with multiple composers to craft five decades of music for Honda’s “Evolution” commercial via MUSE, to orchestrating a virtuoso piano/violin duo performance cover of Twisted Sister’s “I Wanna Rock” for a Mitsubishi spot out of BSSP. Other undertakings include crafting original soul songs, electronic film music, retro psych rock, comedy spoofs, and cinematic orchestral/electronic scores for companies like Lexus (Team One), Southwest Airlines (GSD&M), Google (B-Reel), Acura (MullenLowe), and Teavana (Swift). At the top of the new year, SHINDIG continues full speed ahead, partnering on a new pair of Lexus spots (Team One), an HEB Super Bowl spot featuring an original song (The Richards Group), a new Blue Apron campaign (Swift) and a three-spot campaign for Physicians Mutual (Intermark) that required the full suite of services—original score, sound design, music supervision, final audio mix and even a brand mnemonic.

With all of their recent growth and development, SHINDIG steps into 2019 with the team and the tools to shine on audio projects at any level of complexity.
