    To bring better understanding to the various guilds and acadamys members deciding how to vote this year, SHOOT's Annual "The Road To Emmy" and “The Road To Oscar” series puts the spotlight on the producers, directors, documentarians, cinematographers, editors, production designers, visual effects supervisors, composers and other artisans in the running during Emmy and Academcy season awards shows.

    Spotting Emmy Winners
    SHOOT's 2014 Road To Emmy series featured interviews with assorted Emmy® contenders, many of whom ended up with nominations and a significant number who became Emmy winners. On the latter score, among those in SHOOT's  Road To Emmy coverage were:

     

    ►  Colin Bucksey who won for Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special on the strength of the “Buridan’s Ass” episode of Fargo (FX Networks)

    ►  DP Neville Kidd who topped the category Outstanding Cinematography for a Miniseries or Movie on the strength of the “His Last Vow” episode of the miniseries Sherlock (part of PBS’ Masterpiece presentation)

     

    ►  The team behind the lauded Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey series (Fox and NatGeo), including creator/writer Ann Druyan and director/executive producer Brannon Braga

     

    ►  Editor William Turo who cut the “Tit Punch” episode of Orange is the New Black (Netflix) which earned an for Emmy Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series

     

    ►  Editors Pedro Kos, Christopher De la Torre and Mohamed E. Manasterly whose work on the documentary The Square won the Emmy in the Outstanding Picture Editing for Nonfiction Programming category

    ►  Erik Henry, part of a team which won the Emmy for Outstanding Special and Visual Effects in a Supporting Role for the “I” episode of the series Black Sails (Starz).
