Simian introduces Teams feature for review & approval

Simian’s Latest Features Significantly Enhance And Simplify Project Management And Review & Approval

Laguna Niguel, CA -- (SPW) --

Simian, the showreel-building, review & approval, and production asset management platform used globally by creative leaders, is kicking off this fall season with a substantial leap forward for collaboration and project management – with more updates on the way during the holidays!

The new feature, aptly dubbed “Teams”, makes it easier than ever for users to give project responsibilities to team members and clients alike. “You can never have too many options when it comes to permission levels,” says Jay Brooks, Simian’s Chief Technology Officer. “Teams provides a streamlined way to assign multiple users to a project at once.”

“Teams are very powerful, but creating one is effortless,” Brian Atton, Simian’s Chief Operating Officer explains. “Simply enter a Team name, add members, and then apply the newly made Team to any desired project. You can even invite temporary guests without changing settings for other projects or needing to create a new Team.”

“We love helping our clients by providing efficient tools to improve their workflow, and this has been a frequently requested feature as of late,” shares Kellie Atton, Head of Sales at Simian. “It feels great to get Teams out into the wild because I know it’s going to be tremendously helpful to everyone who uses it”.

Teams is now available exclusively to Simian’s enterprise clients. Simian plans to release more product upgrades and enhancements during Q4 2024 and 2025 for enterprise and non-enterprise users, continuing its ongoing evolution as the industry’s leading production asset management solution.

Simian Introduces AI Tagging, Simplifying The Process Of Finding Specific Spots & Shots

    Monday, June 15, 2026
Simian's AI tagging feature is capable of identifying over 500 visual concepts, including celebrities, objects, genres and semantic themes.

Simian, the showreel-building, review, approval, and reel analytics platform used globally by creative leaders, has released automatic AI tagging for its media library, making it easier to find specific shots within spots when building reels. Simian's AI has been trained on over 500 visual concepts including the following:

    • Objects: Physical items, props, animals, vehicles and other tangible elements visible in the frame
    • Genre: Production style and spot type, such as lifestyle, product demo, testimonial or animation
    • Semantic: Themes, mood, setting, and contextual meaning - family, outdoors, celebration, urban, etc.
    • Celebrities: Notable public figures appearing in the spot
"AI tagging is a sales team's best friend," says Jay Brooks, Simian's Chief Technology Officer. "Combined effectively with user-created tags, it's a simpler process than ever to comb through your library of work for specific visual elements. In an industry that works as fast as advertising, saving that kind of time when building reels is huge for winning new jobs." "Building a great reel can be tough; you need encyclopedic knowledge of your work to meet the boards or the brief," says Brian Atton, Simian's Chief Operating Officer. "Simian's automatic AI tagging can help anyone build a reel, whether they’ve been with a company for years or are brand new to the sales team. It's going to be an essential feature for companies with large media libraries." David Gioiella, Creative Director/Partner of the  Read More
