Spittn Image’s Shawnette Heard Tapped as Creative Director/Choreographer For Quavo’s “Huncho Reality” Launch & Teyana Taylor’s Tribute To Janet Jackson

Spittn Image Creative Director/Director Shawnette Heard has been trailblazing the choreography scene for some time, and continues to make her mark through recent collaborations with Quavo and Teyana Taylor. Earlier this fall, Heard was hand-picked by Karleen Roy, CEO of The Vanity Group, to serve as Creative Director and Choreographer for “Huncho Reality,” the release party for hip-hop star Quavo’s debut solo album Quavo Huncho, which peaked at Number 2 on the Billboard 200. “I love the different vignettes I was asked to choreograph and stage,” relates Heard. “I really appreciate the versatility of my training and education in dance when I am asked to pull from various perspectives.”
As one of Janet Jackson’s principal dancers for more than a decade, Heard was also tapped by the talented Teyana Taylor to teach her and her dancers Tina Landon’s choreography for the classic Janet Jackson song “I Get Lonely.” “It was an honor to be asked to teach such an iconic number choreographed by Tina Landon,” shares Heard.
“I learned so much working under [Landon] for so many years. My sole purpose was to make Janet and Tina proud. Teyana is an incredible talent to work with; it made my job easy.” Taylor and her team performed the dance during the BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards in tribute to the legend herself.
“Heard was an excellent addition to the team,” shares Karleen Roy. “We could not have pulled off the project without her expertise. Her professionalism and poise precedes her, and we look forward to working with her again!”
“The fulfillment I get from working with passionate creatives is beyond empowering,” concludes Heard. “I had a blast working on both projects that embodied such energy.”
