Quantum's Mark Pastor Giving Keynote "Maximizing Content Value with Artificial Intelligence"

    Milpitas, CA -- (SPW) --
The 2017 Storage Visions Conference (SV 2017). will be held Monday, October 16, 2017 here. Mark Pastor from Quantum will give a keynote talk at SV 2017.

The 2017 Storage Visions Conference theme is “New Visions for Digital Storage” and the conference will bring together the vendors, end users, researchers and visionaries that will meet the growing demand for digital storage for all aspects of unstructured and lightly structured data.  Speaker, Sponsorship and exhibit opportunities are now available and registration is available at:  http://sv2017.eventbrite.com/.   Following is information about Mark’s keynote talk.

Maximizing Content Value with Artificial Intelligence
Every organization is experiencing explosive data growth and much of that growth is driven by increasing amounts of video and audio content being captured and stored.  But with growing data stores comes a need to sift through it all to understand what has been captured and ultimately how to generate value from it.  Artificial intelligence (AI) offers a powerful solution for automating and accelerating the analysis of video and audio content to help organizations maximize the value of that content. With richer metadata about audio and video content, organizations can create new intelligence based workflows, more media based offerings, and improved business metrics. Advertising, video production, legal discovery, education, call centers, politics, retail, and security are just examples of the many emerging use cases that are taking advantage of context-based search and discovery tools.

Quantum will explain how the integration of AI with on-premise storage enables organizations to apply cognitive analytics to video and audio content and generate much more robust metadata without the cost and challenges of moving their media libraries to the cloud. The company will describe an economical approach that allows users to take advantage of object recognition, optical character recognition (OCR), transcription and other analytical processes to extract new value from data already maintained in on-premise storage and any new content as it is captured.

Mark Pastor is director of data intelligence solutions at Quantum.  In his current role, he leads a team responsible for driving Quantum’s data intelligence and storage solutions for HPC, AI, research and other large unstructured data environments. Mark also represents Quantum within the Active Archive Alliance and in the LTO consortium.  Prior to joining Quantum, Mark led a team that was responsible for business planning and market development of several new strategic technology initiatives at Seagate.

    About the Storage Visions Conference
In the next few years vast quantities of data will be generated and will need rapid analysis to be useful.  This data will come from digital healthcare, genomics, the Internet of Things, Big Science, Artificial intelligence, manufacturing as well as cloud and fog computing.  The 2017 Storage Visions Conference will help businesses, IT professionals and data scientists understand the digital storage solutions that will make them successful in this new world.

In addition to the sessions, there will also be five keynote talks during the conference and a sponsored reception in the evening.  The agenda for the Storage Visions Conference is at http://storagevisions.com/2017Agenda.htm.

Intel and Quantum are Diamond Sponsors, Red Hat is a Platinum Sponsor, Sony is a Silver Sponsor, SATA-io and Komprise are Bronze Sponsors and Active Storage, Cloudian, Easyco, Newisys and SwiftStack are exhibitors.  Media and Organization Sponsors include Broadcast Beat, Productionhub.com, Bright Blue Innovation, CIOReview, City of Milpitas, Colonial Purchasing, Coughlin Associates, Digital Cinema Society, Enterprise Services Outlook, IEEE-CNSV, DCIA, Entertainment Storage Alliance, Flash Memory Summit, HDDFA, Media and Entertainment Tech, SNIA, SNIA SSSI, St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television, Storagesearch.com and the Trusted Computing Group

Leading West Coast Rep Firm Unveils One of Ones, Expands Team and Talent Offering

    Monday, December 8, 2025
One of Ones - Ezra Burke & Sylvia Brach

With decades of experience working across multiple facets of filmmaking and talent management, Ezra Burke has arrived at one universal truth: it’s human creativity that makes a film unforgettable. And as a pledge to the entire community of filmmakers everywhere, West Coast Rep firm Content Chemics becomes One of Ones. The re-brand for the long-standing firm has been a year in the making, sparked by the addition of Sales Rep Sylvia Brach. “When Sylvia and I first met we spent hours sharing stories of our journeys and what inspired us. Our paths into advertising were very different; mine via the feature film world while Sylvia’s came via the agency side. But what we shared was a passionate commitment to working with people who bring out the best in us.” Energized by this commitment to the creative community, One of Ones have expanded their roster with the addition of four new companies over the past year. Earlier this year Ezra and team re-united with SKUNK founder Matt Factor and director John Hillcoat, followed by the signing of Field Day Sound, the 2025 AdAge Music & Sound Company of the Year. Premiere VFX studio Selected Works joined the roster over the summer. And most recently Ezra and Sylvia have brought on Group Thrpy, the production company founded by Shelby Ross and director Harrison Boyce. www.oneofones.com Read More
