Feature Documentary “Safe Sets: Dying To Work In The Film Industry” Now Available On Amazon Prime

    Wednesday, June 10, 2026
The poster for the documentary film 'Safe Sets' features a stuntperson on fire jumping from a high platform.

Feature documentary Safe Sets: Dying to Work in the Film Industry is now available on Amazon Prime for rent or purchase. In the film, Doctor Paul Heinzelmann investigates hazardous working conditions in Hollywood and discovers untold stories of enormous personal sacrifice and life-threatening risks for those working in an industry that brings us the movies and TV shows we cherish.

In addition to Heinzelmann’s own journey and research, Safe Sets: Dying to Work in the Film Industry provides historical context and features candid interviews with actors Jon Hamm and John Malkovich, alongside crew members and public health experts. A must-watch for anyone who loves film and filmmaking, the feature doc presents a case for change and the fundamental shifts that will create healthier conditions for film workers everywhere.

"With Safe Sets now available on Prime Video, our film can become a rallying cry for real change,” notes Heinzelmann. “The stories we've uncovered show not only lives lost, but the damage to overall well-being that prevents people in this industry from living and thriving with a higher quality of life. The future of the industry depends on making that change.”

"A film driven to improve the lives of all of us working in this industry.” – Actor Jon Hamm

“An important and overdue look at what is needed to protect the lives of those who perform death-defying stunts in the film industry.” – Actor/Producer Chris Cooper
