Companies Unite In Purpose-Led Production & Motion Design

    NEW YORK -- (SPW) --

Production company The Light and motion design studio BIEN have forged a strategic alliance that nurtures inclusivity and sustainability throughout the life cycle of every project.

The Light Founder/CEO Becky Morrison and BIEN Co-Founder Ricardo Roberts were first introduced by a mutual client who recognized their parallel ethos. Both Morrison and Roberts are advocates for industry change, and have built successful companies that demonstrate the benefits of human-centered and sustainable production in live action and motion design, respectively.

“I admire the thoughtfulness, specificity, and artistry with which BIEN produces animation and design and their attention to representing the full spectrum of humanity,” notes Morrison. “Their work behind the scenes to foster a diverse creative community is equally impressive. It feels like the perfect moment to partner with another mission-driven company who cares so deeply about creative excellence and social change.”

“I immediately hit it off with Becky and love that she has so many ideas that are tactical, scalable and make a powerful difference,” adds Roberts. “She challenges the status quo while producing beautiful, world-class content. With this partnership, we can better serve our clients and carry our mission forward together.”

The Light is a production company guided by the principle that an emotionally healthy environment is paramount for creativity and high performance. From its inception in 2014, The Light has centered under-represented talent, with equity and sustainability as key pillars to delivering creative projects for entertainment networks and leading brands – among them Apple, Google, Gucci, Live Nation, and Netflix. Becky Morrison is dedicated to catalyzing systemic industry change and has spent years studying the history of Hollywood, using her research to inform a new paradigm for conscious production.

BIEN was founded in the belief that inclusivity helps everyone. In 2017, Bien pioneered a unique methodology called Inclusive Motion Design (InMoDe™) that helps brands connect with global audiences through accurate representation on-screen and behind the scenes. As a minority-owned motion design and animation studio, BIEN works with award-winning creatives who embody a diverse range of experience. The studio has created content for a wide variety of clients including Instagram, Paralympics, The Getty Museum, and AT&T.

“Safe Sets” Documentary Welcomes Producer Becky Morrison

    Monday, March 24, 2025
    Becky Morrison

Becky Morrison, Founder & CEO of The Light, has joined the documentary film Safe Sets: Dying To Work in the Film Industry as a producer. Morrison is an advocate for change in the industry, with a focus on creating healthy, inclusive, sustainable environments on set.

“We are absolutely thrilled to have Becky Morrison join our team,” comments Safe Sets director Dr. Paul Heinzelmann. “Her experience, personal passion for the topic of our film, and her positive energy bring so much additional momentum to this project. We are so grateful to be working with her.”

“Everyone in the film industry needs to see this documentary,” says Morrison. “It is an inspiring and urgent call for change. The film masterfully address the issues crews face - from sleep deprivation, addiction, stunts, lack of diversity, sexual harassment and more - illustrating that when individual stories are woven together it reveals the broader systemic reality. It is an honor to be a part of this project and the larger movement to drive change.”

Safe Sets: Dying to Work in the Film Industry is a feature length exploration of the issues impacting the health and wellbeing of film workers, whose life expectancy is estimated by some as lower than the national average. The film weaves together candid interviews with technicians, union representatives, public health experts, and notable performers (Jon Hamm and John Malkovich) with the story of Dr. Heinzelmann’s effort to conduct research into health and safety in the film industry.

“Over time, the glamour of providing medical services on film... Read More
