Fall 2025 is a milestone season for actor and filmmaker Mel England, with three powerful LGBTQ+ features premiering across festivals, streaming, and digital platforms. England stars in the intense post-apocalyptic drama “Until the Silence,” the romance “Snow Falling on Pumpkins,” and the eagerly awaited sequel “Adam & Steve: Escape from MAGA.”
“It’s always an honor to be a part of someone’s vision, and I’m so proud to be in each of these important LGBTQ+ filmmakers’ projects that hit screens this fall!” says England.
“Until the Silence,” a HERE Films Original, now streaming on HERE TV and Amazon Prime, is a cautionary tale of love’s triumph in the face of our greatest fears. Three LGBTQ+ couples come together in the apocalyptic drama, written and directed by Emmy® nominated filmmaker Billy Clift. The feature made its world premiere on September 27th at the Cinema Diverse Film Festival in Palm Springs. Click the link to watch the official trailer: Until the Silence.
“Snow Falling on Pumpkins,” now streaming on Amazon Prime and GayBingeTV, is an LGBTQ+ drama, written and directed by trailblazer Jeff London, whose gay romance films over the past three decades uniquely focus on small-town America. When a gay couple decides to marry, one begins to experience strange symptoms and is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s. As the newlyweds struggle to accept the disease and their new reality, they discover a deeper purpose in their commitment. It premiered in Los Angeles October 15th, at the Laemmle Theatre Glendale and made its Las Vegas premiere December 3rd at the Galaxy Theatres. It also won Best Narrative Feature Film at the Crown Point International Film Festival in November. For more information about the movie, watch the official trailer, visit the website Snow Falling on Pumpkins, or on Facebook.
Online screening copies are available for “Snow Falling on Pumpkins” on request.
“Adam & Steve: Escape from MAGA,” is the eagerly awaited sequel of gay indie-cinema icon Craig Chester’s cult classic “Adam & Steve.” It premiered on November 22nd, as a live online premiere/watch party on Gathr as part of the national “Fall of Freedom” weekend.
The short-form series has Chester and Malcolm Gets reprising their title roles 20 years after the seminal film about gay marriage. It also features the late Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner Sally Kirkland as the minister who married them. Adam and Steve go back into a closet – (or an attic!) – when a miracle saves them! England guest stars as Frank, an endlessly complaining social media influencer. Watch the trailer and series at Adam & Steve: Escape from MAGA and follow on Instagram.
“These three LGBTQ+ projects couldn’t be more different, but what I love is that all three are about resilience, finding love, and hope in dark times,” says England. “We live in a complicated world, and these stories remind us that connection is what carries us through.”
