Veteran Hollywood Publicist and Author Dan Harary To Debut New Sci-Fi Novel AFTER THEY CAME at LA Times Festival of Books

New Book Has Been Embraced by the Global UFO Research Community

Beverly Hills, CA -- (SPW) --

Veteran Hollywood Publicist and Author Dan Harary will debut his new book After They Came at the upcoming Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, April 22-23, at Booth # 878. The well-researched science fiction work has been generating significant media attention in the U.S. and UK, as well as acclaim from the international UFO research community. After They Came was inspired by the work of Harary’s father – the late Jack Harary – an Electronics Engineer with the U.S. Army from 1951 – 1996. In the book, Dan Harary cites convincing evidence that his late dad knew about – and possibly worked on – recovered UFO’s! His goal is to interest a Hollywood producer in optioning the novel for a motion picture adaptation.

Dan attended the recent AlienCon 2023 convention in Pasadena, where he had the opportunity to gift a copy of After They Came to Eric von Daniken, the author of the international best-seller Chariots of the Gods and the Father of Ancient Alien Theory.

“In 1970, when I was 14, my dad and I saw an enormous, silver, ‘Flying V’ UFO, slowly and silently hovering directly over our heads above my childhood street,” Harary recalls today. “While I was jumping up and down with excitement, my father nonchalantly observed the craft flying above us, without expression – he then winked at me and said, ‘Let’s go home now.’ The unbelievable sight didn’t rattle or amaze him in the least. It was only after he died in 2017 that I remembered the wink. It was then I realized for the very first time in my life that given my father’s work in the military, he must have known what that UFO really was!”

Another renowned UFO researcher, Nick Pope of the UK, has said of the new novel: “Dan Harary’s book After They Came is an entertaining and upbeat work of sci-fi that cleverly incorporates key parts of the UFO phenomenon's lore and backstory – a delightful tale of wonder and hope.”

The storyline presented within After They Came: Two benevolent Aliens come to Earth to “fix” all of mankind’s problems – working solely through the efforts of one human being, Jonathan Michael Tuckerman. Tuckerman, a lost and broken man, gains redemption over the course of the novel through a series of unprecedented acts of global heroism and brilliance, while ultimately fulfilling a life path he had no idea was predestined.

Originally from Asbury Park, New Jersey, Harary is best known for his 40-plus years of work in Hollywood as an Entertainment Industry Publicist and owner of the Asbury PR Agency (www.asburypr.com). His first book Flirting With Fame was a popular Hollywood read in summer 2022. He is also a longtime UFO Researcher, a three-time UFO Experiencer, and a longtime member of MUFON/Los Angeles – the local chapter of the global Mutual UFO Network.

Experimentation in Production Design: In Talks with Charmaine Regina Asril Lee

'Embodied' Behind the Scenes - Courtesy of Charmaine Regina

We sat down with designer, art director, and creative technologist Charmaine Regina as she outlined her creative approach for us. She walks us through how she's shifted the focus away from technicalities and instead uses design as a way to build relationships between people and brands. Her design skills go beyond traditional boundaries as she works across branding, motion, and code, treating brand identity as something dynamic. She discusses how her approach is grounded in experimentation, and outlines her deep sense of responsibility for how design influences perception, agency, and experience in an increasingly interactive world. When a project involves branding, motion, and code, where does your process begin, and why? I start with the interaction, not the motion. I’m less interested in animation as spectacle and more interested in motion as a consequence of behavior. I ask: What triggers movement? What does the user do? What does the system respond to? Where does friction, resistance, or flow live? For me, motion isn’t decoration — it’s feedback. It’s how a system speaks back. So the process begins by designing the relationship between a person and a system. Once that relationship is defined, motion emerges naturally as its expression. That’s how branding becomes something you don’t just look at — it’s something you participate in. What role does experimentation play in your production pipeline, and how do you know when an experiment is ready to become a... Read More
